The "2024 Agricultural and Food Fair for Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas" of Kbang District, Gia Lai Province was held from July 31 to August 2, within the framework of the 2024 Kbang District Tourism Festival.

The fair has the participation of 232 booths of units: cooperatives, enterprises, individuals, households in the area, with more than 21 species of herbs, rare products harvested under the forest canopy, 12 types of products with seeds, 13 types of fruits, 15 types of vegetables, 7 types of fresh meat and fish, 8 traditional handicraft industries. In particular, many types of agricultural and forestry specialties, foods with strengths of Kbang district are registered trademarks, known to the market nationwide, such as: wild ginseng, wild mushrooms, medicinal plants, natural wild honey, honey, oranges, macadamia nuts, red brown rice, So Pai rice, black pigs... The fair has attracted thousands of people and tourists to visit and shop and sign cooperation agreements for goods exchange.
The fair brings consumers clean and good quality products, contributing to promoting links for mutual development. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for Kbang district to attract tourists to the area with many attractive tourist destinations to implement the project to promote the development of community tourism in the province, improving the lives of people in Gia Lai province.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Vice Chairman of Kbang District People's Committee said: Organizing the 2024 agricultural and food fair for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of Kbang district will create conditions for Kbang district and other districts to meet, share, and promote the potential and advantages of tourism development, cultural values, traditional arts of ethnic groups, and typical specialties of the district.
At the same time, it creates conditions for localities and businesses to approach and introduce products to tourists, creating a series of rich, diverse and unique activities to emphasize that Kbang is always a "safe - attractive - friendly" destination for tourists inside and outside the province.
Kbang has a temperate climate and diverse soil, suitable for many types of crops. Currently, the whole province has 3,100 macadamia trees, which are highly appreciated by consumers nationwide for their flavor and nutritional value. Orange and tangerine trees have expanded to nearly 130 hectares, known to many people under the brand name Son Lang oranges.
The conversion of new rice varieties combined with the construction of single-variety rice fields has improved the quality of rice in the area. ST24 and ST25 So Pai rice have become well-known. Or the Kbang wild bamboo shoot product, harvested 100% from nature, is an indispensable dish during holidays and Tet.
To date, the district has 64 hectares of fruit trees and vegetables certified to meet VietGAP standards; the organic fruit garden model has been replicated. The district has 18 products certified as 3-star OCOP. With these advantages, the products are widely consumed in and outside the province.
