By the end of 2024, the province had 139 OCOP products rated 3 stars or higher, specifically: 97 3-star products, 36 4-star products (including 1 potential 5-star product, currently being submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for evaluation and classification as a national-level OCOP product), and 6 proposed 4-star products currently being evaluated by the Advisory Team of the Tay Ninh Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council.
During the year, the province supported two OCOP product introduction and sales points for two business households, namely OCOP TG and Van Linh Huong stores; and provided support for packaging and label printing costs for eight products, with a total support budget of approximately 247.5 million VND.
Overall, OCOP products have improved in quality, design, and packaging, ensuring compliance with regulations on labels, tags, and product traceability. Businesses, cooperatives, and production and trading establishments have initially recognized the benefits of the program, showing interest in and actively participating, creating a better ripple effect. The OCOP program's partners, experts, and businesses are gradually connecting, forming a support channel for participating entities.
To develop OCOP products sustainably, Tay Ninh has been focusing on policies that link production between farmers, businesses, and cooperatives. These linkages help people access advanced production techniques while ensuring product quality according to OCOP standards. Cooperatives also play a crucial role as a bridge in the procurement, processing, and consumption of products, helping farmers produce with peace of mind and without worrying about product outlets.
Furthermore, building a value chain is a decisive factor in enhancing the value of OCOP products. The products are not limited to cultivation but also go through stages such as deep processing, packaging, and distribution. This ensures that Tay Ninh's OCOP products not only have good quality but also an attractive appearance, creating a strong appeal to the consumer market.
In the coming period, the province will continue to support the introduction of OCOP products through e-commerce platforms, online sales channels, and direct interactive sales; coordinate the introduction of entities participating in the promotion and advertising of OCOP products through various media channels; and participate in OCOP product exhibitions organized by the province and other localities.
