Ngu Hanh Son District (Da Nang City) is located in the Southeast of Da Nang City, 8 km from the city center. Mr. Nguyen Hoa, Chairman of Ngu Hanh Son District People's Committee, said that tourism is a key economic sector of the locality. Therefore, the district always strives to awaken the existing value of scenic spots and historical relics, and at the same time connect tourist spots in the complex together; support and create all conditions for tourism businesses, contributing to increasing income for people, developing the economy associated with protecting and promoting the value of scenic spots.
According to the Chairman of Ngu Hanh Son District People's Committee, in the coming time, the district will strengthen state management of tourism activities such as: Ensuring security and safety for tourists; ensuring environmental sanitation, food hygiene and safety, urban aesthetics; building management mechanisms and tourism development policies; continuing to complete the items of the K20 Revolutionary Base Tourism Development Project. Ngu Hanh Son District will implement the project to preserve and promote Ma Nhai stele, Ngu Hanh Son scenic spot, renovate technical infrastructure in protected area I, collect and supplement documents and artifacts, etc.
In addition, Ngu Hanh Son district will strengthen communication about the activities of An Thuong Tourist Area, develop in-depth tourism products, diversify cultural and artistic entertainment activities; strengthen management and supervision of the activities of An Thuong Walking Street - Night Market.
Secretary of Ngu Hanh Son District Party Committee Cao Thi Huyen Tran said that with the strength of sea tourism and spiritual tourism, Ngu Hanh Son is oriented to become a unique and civilized destination, diversifying types of tourism and services, increasing the experience value for visitors. Currently, the district is connecting all tourist attractions, pagodas, caves, Ma Nhai stele system... to help visitors understand the cultural and historical values of Ngu Hanh Son district.
Director of Da Nang City Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh highly appreciated the efforts in building and developing tourism of Ngu Hanh Son district in recent times; hoped that the locality would build a variety of tourism products, aiming at civilized tourism and have many ideas to increase the experience value for tourists; strengthen communication and promote the image of Ngu Hanh Son district. In addition, the Department of Tourism will accompany and support plans and proposals to develop tourism products in the district.
According to the People's Committee of Ngu Hanh Son District, in 2023, Ngu Hanh Son Scenic Relic welcomed nearly 1.7 million visitors (more than 1.1 million international visitors) with a total budget revenue of nearly 74.4 billion VND; K20 Revolutionary Base Area welcomed and served more than 5,000 visitors for free to visit, study and research. During the pilot implementation of An Thuong Walking Street - Night Market from July 2023 to present, more than 30,000 tourists and residents have come to visit and use the services.
In 2023, Ngu Hanh Son district will focus on exploiting and developing local tourism products. In particular, the district will deploy the construction of tourism services in An Thuong Tourist Area such as: Organizing music programs and street dances; creating walking street spaces on An Thuong 1, 2, 3, 4, Tran Bach Dang, Hoang Ke Viem streets... to meet the cultural and entertainment needs of local people and domestic and foreign tourists; opening the Walking Street and piloting the An Thuong night market on the sidewalk of Tran Bach Dang street with nearly 40 stalls selling food and drinks.
Organize a program to promote OCOP products with 20 booths displaying and introducing typical rural industrial products, souvenirs and gifts for tourists, and some typical products of Ngu Hanh Son district and neighboring localities.
In addition, the Quan The Am Festival has been upgraded to a city-level festival, which includes many cultural and artistic activities, folk art performances, Bai Choi singing, artistic kite flying, etc., attracting a large number of tourists to enjoy and bring good impressions to visitors and festival-goers, connecting with tourism development activities in the district and related areas inside and outside the city.
In 2023, the district also organized the Non Nuoc Fine Arts Stone Sculpture Competition. Through this competition, the locality introduced to visitors the process of crafting, creating art and admiring the completed works from the talented hands of sculptors in the traditional craft village of Non Nuoc fine arts stone carving.
This is a new and unique product that the district is evaluating, researching and developing an annual organization project to create a unique tourism product with local identity associated with visiting the Non Nuoc Stone Sculpture Museum and other related tourism products.
