According to experts, global pepper supply will continue to decline in 2025, while demand from major markets such as the US and Europe remains stable, creating momentum for prices to remain high. Meanwhile, China is currently facing low pepper inventories, and may start buying again after the Lunar New Year, when Vietnam's main harvest begins.
In the last months of 2024 and the end of January 2025, pepper prices in Vietnam will remain stable at around 140,000 - 150,000 VND/kg. This is a signal that prices will not fluctuate strongly, even though the market is facing a decrease in output from some major producing countries.
In addition, Brazil’s pepper output is forecast to recover in 2025, while Indonesia and India may see output decline due to extreme weather and investment difficulties. This change has caused many farmers in Vietnam to reduce their investment in pepper, due to increased production costs and sharp declines in productivity.
