Developing high-tech agriculture and organic agriculture associated with product processing and consumption is a breakthrough for Dong Nai in the period of 2020 - 2025.
That was the affirmation of the leaders of Dong Nai province at the conference to review 3 years of implementing Plan No. 110 of the Provincial Party Committee on developing high-tech agriculture (CNC), organic agriculture associated with processing industry and product consumption market in the province until 2025. The conference was organized by Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee on August 27.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dong Nai, agricultural production models applying CNC and organic agriculture associated with processing and consumption industry are considered effective development directions and are being replicated in Long Khanh city as well as many localities in the province.
After 3 years of implementing Plan No. 110 of the Provincial Party Committee, 4/11 targets have been achieved and exceeded. These are the number of CNC agricultural models, organic agricultural production areas, CNC agricultural areas and models achieving organic certification.
Dong Nai's agricultural, forestry and fishery production value in the 2021-2023 period achieved an average growth rate of 3.83% per year, higher than the national average and ranking first in the Southeast region. In particular, fresh fruit exports reached an impressive milestone, typically durian and fresh bananas exported to the Chinese market reached a record high with an estimated export value of VND 4,800 billion (in 2023). The consumption market is also gradually expanding.
The value of harvested products per hectare of crop and aquaculture reaches about 160 million VND/ha/year (1.3 times higher than in 2020). In addition, the growth rate of the food processing industry value in Dong Nai is always maintained at over 5%/year. The application of scientific and technological advances in production has contributed to improving the efficiency of agricultural land use and increasing farmers' income.

In the province, 8 agricultural production areas applying CNC have been formed, with 419 agricultural models applying CNC, exceeding the target by 2025. The whole province has more than 885 hectares of organic agricultural production (reaching nearly 0.5% of the total agricultural production area). Up to now, the province has also formed 15 agricultural production areas in the direction of organic with a scale of 1,555 hectares, 5 times higher than the target by 2025, of which 9 models have achieved organic certification with an area of nearly 28 hectares.
Mr. Tran Lam Sinh - Deputy Director of Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: "In the coming time, the provincial agricultural sector will focus resources on implementing plans for agricultural and rural development; developing irrigation infrastructure. The province calls for investment in warehouse systems for storage, preliminary processing, packaging; production facilities associated with production areas, especially industries with high economic value and competitive advantages to target export markets".
According to Mr. Sinh, the province prioritizes calling for investment in CNC application agricultural zones and areas according to the planning; allocates public investment capital to invest in infrastructure of concentrated production areas and organic production areas.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Ho Thanh Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee affirmed: Developing high-tech agriculture and organic agriculture associated with processing industry and product consumption market is one of the four breakthrough tasks identified by the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.

However, according to Mr. Son, in the implementation process, there are still limitations, such as the rate of effectively operating agricultural cooperatives is still low; access to preferential policies on land, finance, and credit for businesses and people is still limited, not creating motivation for development; infrastructure for preliminary processing, processing, preservation, and packaging of agricultural products is not invested in asynchronously, not keeping up with development needs; the implementation of the Israel Project in practice still has many difficulties and obstacles...
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee suggested that it is necessary to continue promoting the application and replication of safe agricultural models, organic agriculture, ecological agriculture, circular agriculture, and CNC agriculture. Strengthening the inspection and supervision of agricultural products, handling products that do not ensure food safety, protecting consumers and creating opportunities for safe products and organic products with traceable origins to reach consumers.
In particular, it is necessary to review and evaluate the implementation results, propose adjustments to the content in accordance with requirements and reality. Focus on training and fostering professional expertise and prioritize the allocation of staff quotas for state management officials in the agricultural sector from the provincial to communal levels.
After 3 years of implementing Plan No. 110 of the Provincial Party Committee, CNC agriculture has been increasingly widely applied, organic agriculture and good agricultural production have been increasingly developed with the value ratio of key agricultural products applying CNC reaching nearly 46.3%, the estimated value reaching over 34.7 trillion VND, reaching nearly 92.6% of the target by 2025, higher than the plan. The agricultural processing industry continues to develop and has many positive changes, contributing to creating jobs for workers and promoting rural economic development.
