According to Marca, PSG goalkeeper Sergio Rico suffered a brain injury after falling off a horse and being kicked in the neck in Huelva, Spain. The Ligue 1 champion was quickly given first aid.
The PSG goalkeeper was then taken by helicopter to the Virgen del Rocio hospital in Seville. A report from the medical team at the hospital said Rico was in a “serious” condition.
Sergio Rico was on the list for PSG's 1-1 draw with Strasbourg in the penultimate round of Ligue 1. Despite only having 1 point, PSG were officially crowned French champions with a 4-point lead over the second-placed team.
After this match, the Spanish goalkeeper returned to his hometown El Rocio, Huelva City and had an accident.

This season, Sergio Rico has not played any official matches for PSG and is often a backup for goalkeeper Donnarumma. Before joining the French team in the summer of 2019 and having 24 matches, Sergio Rico played for Sevilla and Fulham. In the 2022 season, this 29-year-old goalkeeper was loaned by PSG to Mallorca.
PSG's homepage announced Rico's condition: "PSG has learned of the accident of player Sergio Rico on Sunday and remains in constant contact with his relatives. All PSG fans and the club will support the relatives and Sergio Rico."
