The Ministry of Education and Training has just publicly announced the 2023 state budget settlement (public investment capital from the state budget) of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Specifically, the total approved settlement data in 2023 is 1,127,290,896 VND (more than 1,127.2 billion VND). Accordingly, the budget for education and training (science and technology) is more than 1,047 billion VND, and for economic activities is 80.2 billion VND.
In 2023, the Ministry of Education and Training will spend more than 1,047 billion VND of the state budget on science and technology, 4.4 times more than in 2022.
There are 17 units receiving investment for science and technology from this budget. Of which, the Management Board of Secondary Education Project in the most difficult areas, phase 2, received the most investment, more than 503.64 billion VND.
Regarding university education institutions, Hanoi University of Science and Technology received the largest investment with over 111.67 billion VND. Next was Da Nang University with 111 billion VND.
The next units receiving large budgets include the University of Transport with 78.45 billion VND, the Project Management Board of the Ministry of Education and Training with 69.6 billion VND, Hanoi National University of Education with 47.23 billion VND, University of Science (Hue University) with 35.64 billion VND; and Hung Yen University of Technical Education with 31.9 billion VND.
Three units were allocated for economic activities, including the Project Management Board of the Ministry of Education and Training (over 77.64 billion VND), the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences (1.44 billion VND) and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education (nearly 1.12 billion VND).
Meanwhile, in 2022, the total budget that the Ministry of Education and Training will spend on science and technology is more than 237 billion VND. Thus, in 2023, this number will increase 4.4 times.
17 units received funding from the Ministry of Education and Training for science and technology in 2023, including: Hung Yen University of Technical Education, Tay Bac University, Da Nang University, Kien Giang University, Hanoi University of Education, University of Transport, Hue University, University of Mining and Geology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education, Management Board of Projects of the Ministry of Education and Training, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Management Board of Secondary Education Project in the Most Difficult Areas Phase 2, National Economics University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, University of Science - Hue University.
