Hanoi University of Science and Technology announces details of 3 enrollment plans

(NLDO) - Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced its enrollment plan for 2025 on the morning of January 15.

In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to enroll 9,680 students for 65 training programs with 3 enrollment options.

Candidates taking the 2024 high school graduation exam

The school's three admission methods include: Talent selection (about 20% of the target); selection based on Thinking Assessment test scores (about 40% of the target); selection based on 2025 high school graduation exam scores (about 40% of the target).

Talent selection methods include: Direct selection of excellent students according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; Selection based on international certificates; Selection based on capacity profile combined with interview.

Candidates for direct admission include high school graduates in 2025, with high achievements in the excellent student exam, the Science and Technology competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training; candidates in the national team participating in the international Science and Technology competition or winning first, second, or third prizes in the national Science and Technology competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training will be considered for direct admission to the field of study suitable for the subject area registered for the competition.

Candidates for admission based on international certificates are those with an average grade point average (GPA) of 8.0 or higher in grades 10, 11, and 12; and have at least one of the following international certificates: SAT, ACT...

Admission based on the Competency Profile combined with an interview: Candidates for admission are high school graduates in 2025, with an average score of 8.0 or higher in each year of grades 10, 11 and 12 and meeting one of the following conditions: Being selected to participate in the national excellent student exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or winning first, second, third or consolation prizes in the provincial/municipal excellent student exam organized by the Department of Education and Training (or equivalent organized by national universities, regional universities) in the subjects of math, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, foreign languages, and combinations during high school; being selected to participate in the national science and technology competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training; being selected to participate in the Road to Olympia competition organized by Vietnam Television from the monthly round and above; Specialized students (including specialized math, physics, chemistry, biology, IT, foreign languages) of high schools and specialized high schools nationwide, specialized classes, specialized systems of universities, national universities, regional universities.

Candidates for admission based on Thinking Assessment (TSA) scores: Candidates participating in the Thinking Assessment exam organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

With the admission method based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores, candidates need to ensure that they have graduated from high school and meet the minimum score set by Hanoi University of Science and Technology (to be announced later).

Regarding the admission combinations, the university maintains 10 admission combinations including: A00, A01, A02, B00, D01, D04, D07, D26, D28 and D29;

At the same time, a new combination K01 is added, including the following subjects: Math, Literature, Physics/Chemistry/Biology/IT. In which, Math and Literature are two compulsory subjects, combined with one of four subjects: Physics or Chemistry or Biology or IT with a coefficient. The admission combinations are calculated equally.

In addition, candidates with VSTEP English certificate or international English certificate (registered for authentication on the system) can convert into English subject score when applying for admission based on high school graduation exam score (combination A01, D01, D04, D07) and add bonus points when applying for admission based on talent assessment method, admission based on thinking assessment test score.

Regulations on equivalent English certificates

For candidates applying for admission to English-taught programs, FL1 (English for Science, Technology and Engineering), FL3 (Chinese for Science and Technology), in addition to the general requirements, candidates must meet one of the following English or equivalent foreign language proficiency requirements: Have a VSTEP English certificate at level B1 or higher; have an IELTS (academic) certificate of 5.0 or higher or equivalent; have a high school graduation exam score in 2025 in English of 6.5 or higher.

Regulations on converting IELTS certificate scores

For candidates applying for admission to international training programs including TROY-BA, TROY-IT, FL2 (International Professional English), in addition to the necessary conditions (according to the admission methods), candidates need to have one of the following English proficiency conditions: Have a VSTEP English certificate at level B2 or higher; have an IELTS certificate (academic) of 5.5 or higher or equivalent.
