The Vietnamese golf team participating in ASIAD 19 includes 4 male athletes: Nguyen Anh Minh, Nguyen Nhat Long, Nguyen Dang Minh, Le Khanh Hung and 2 female athletes: Le Chuc An, Ngo Bao Nghi. These are all familiar faces in the Vietnamese golf community.
Head coach Nguyen Thai Duong assessed that the team members are all young athletes, have been invested in training properly, have many opportunities to compete and compete in domestic and international tournaments, so their skills and achievements are gradually improving, and still have a lot of potential and time to develop.
This is a positive signal for the development of youth golf in particular and golf in general in Vietnam, allowing us to expect to soon make our mark on the regional arena.
At the 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese golf team won 1 gold medal for athlete Le Khanh Hung (Men's Individual), 1 bronze medal for athlete Nguyen Anh Minh (Men's Individual) and 1 silver medal for men's team.
According to the classification of sports participating in the 19th ASIAD by the Vietnamese sports delegation, golf is in the group of sports that are not likely to win medals (along with other sports such as football, women's volleyball, badminton, tennis).
The Vietnamese golf team came to this congress with the spirit of learning and competing to accumulate competition experience.
Although there is no pressure for medals, the Vietnamese golf team will still compete with all their might for the country's flag, for the fans' trust and hopefully create surprises.
