Hanoi Women's Football Team and Coaching Board along with 15 typical groups and individuals will be honored in the Vietnam Glory program on the evening of June 4.

At the press conference on June 1, the program's organizers said that with the theme of Vietnamese Will , the groups and individuals honored are typical examples of efforts to overcome difficulties and are willing to sacrifice for the community. Many individuals have become a source of inspiration spreading positive energy because of their innovative thinking, daring to think, daring to do, and daring to take responsibility.

"Glory to Vietnam is an opportunity for all people, even those who do the smallest work but have meaning for the community, regardless of position or profession," said Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The coaching staff and the Vietnam Women's Football Team are among the five groups honored. The team has won the SEA Games women's football gold medal four times in a row. In July and August, the girls will conquer the biggest arena on the planet, the World Cup.

The individual honored was the deputy captain of the SAR-412 ship, Tran Van Khoi, of the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region II, Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center. The 43-year-old deputy captain is the first Vietnamese person to be honored by the International Maritime Organization and awarded the Extraordinary Act of Courage at Sea award.

Every year, Mr. Khoi and his teammates participate in 15-20 maritime search and rescue missions, saving the lives of hundreds of people in distress at sea, and rescuing many fishing vessels from dangerous areas. In October 2020, the deputy captain volunteered three times to approach the sunken Vietship 01 ship in the Quang Tri sea area, and together with his teammates, brought 3 victims safely to shore.

Entering its 18th year, Vietnam Glory organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and Labor newspaper has honored 274 outstanding collectives and individuals.
