Enterprises discharging waste into the environment were fined 1.1 billion VND.

Hongfei Glass Manufacturing Company in Trang Bom District was fined VND1.1 billion by Dong Nai Province for discharging waste into the environment with hazardous parameters exceeding permissible standards.

The decision to administratively sanction Hongfei Glass Company Limited, in Song May Industrial Park, was issued by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province on October 13.

Hongfei Glass Co., Ltd. (Chinese capital) was first certified in 2021, and granted an environmental license a year later. Its field of activity is the production and processing of electric bulbs with a capacity of 5,000 products per year, and household products made of glass and tempered glass with about 5,000 tons of products per year.

Previously, this enterprise was discovered by Song May Industrial Park to be discharging wastewater into the industrial park’s drainage system. The wastewater contained hazardous environmental parameters exceeding technical waste standards by 5 times or more.

In addition to the fine, the Dong Nai provincial government also suspended Hongfei Glass Company Ltd. from polluting activities for three months to review and repair its wastewater treatment facilities; and must remedy the environmental pollution before October 31.
