Nearly 80,000 visitors came to visit and shop at the Fair
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association Cao Thi Ngoc Lan emphasized that in order to support Vietnamese tourism businesses in shifting their business direction after the Covid-19 pandemic, implementing the policy of the United Nations, the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) and the Government in developing the economy towards green growth for sustainable development, the Vietnam Tourism Association organized the Vietnam International Tourism Fair - VITM Hanoi 2024 with the theme "Vietnam Tourism - Green transformation for sustainable development".
With the participation of promotion agencies and tourism businesses from 55 provinces and cities of Vietnam, 16 countries and territories, with 480 booths and over 700 units, the Fair attracted nearly 4,000 Vietnamese and international tourism businesses to work with more than 12,000 appointments (B to B) on the sidelines of the fair; more than 10,000 tours and promotional tourism products were provided at the Fair.
"It is estimated that nearly 80,000 visitors will come to visit and shop at the Fair. VITM Hanoi 2024 continues to affirm its brand and position as the leading tourism promotion event of Vietnam Tourism," affirmed Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Lan.

The Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association said that during the 4 days (from April 11 to 14), 23 events and tourism promotion activities were held within the framework of the VITM Hanoi 2024 Fair. The meetings between businesses and businesses, businesses and tourists and the activities of Vietnam and international tourism promotion agencies created a vibrant atmosphere, a strong spirit of tourism businesses nationwide, contributing significantly to the recovery, acceleration, and rapid and effective development of Vietnam's tourism.
With the theme of Vietnam Tourism - Green transformation for sustainable development, the National Tourism Forum held on the morning of April 12, 2024 attracted a large number of State tourism management agencies from the central to local levels, researchers, tourism experts and leaders of tourism businesses.
The Forum has specified the content and requirements of green transformation in the tourism sector; Proposed effective linkage and coordination mechanisms to mobilize resources to implement green transformation in tourism; Realized initiatives to approach and expand the market for green tourism business models through specific activities.
The fair has encouraged tourism businesses to immediately innovate activities to build green destinations and green products, promote businesses to train workers with knowledge of green tourism, contributing to improving the image of Vietnam Tourism to develop into a green economic sector, a circular economy of Vietnam.

The 2024 VITA AWARDS Ceremony honored outstanding businesses and individuals with 2 special dedication awards to honor outstanding individuals who have supported the Vietnam Tourism Association to successfully organize national events and activities, contributing to the development of Vietnam Tourism... At the same time, 170 organizations, businesses, 112 individuals who are members of the Vietnam Tourism Association and the Tourism Association of 58 provinces and cities and the Mekong Delta Tourism Association were honored.
"The award ceremony has truly become a festival for the tourism business community, encouraging businesses to promote emulation movements, innovation, and creativity, contributing positively to the recovery and development of Vietnam Tourism," said Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Lan.
50 units participating in the Fair achieved revenue of more than 180 billion VND
According to a quick survey of 50 units participating in the Fair, the revenue from tourism product sales in 4 days reached more than 180 billion VND; 92% of enterprises achieved their target when participating, of which 5.4% exceeded the expected target; 91.9% were satisfied with the activities at the Fair. In addition, 25% wanted to change the location of the booth for more convenience; 81% of units committed to participating in the VITM Hanoi Fair 2025.
Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu, Marketing - Communications Director of Vietluxtour Travel, said that after 4 days of participating in the Fair, many visitors requested advice on tours, visas, air tickets and made purchases and deposits at the booth. The tours were promoted at good prices, with a maximum discount of about 25% compared to the normal price.
To achieve this promotion, Vietluxtour Travel has planned to prepare and work with service providers very early to get a large number of tickets at good prices. Combined with the preferential level that the Company offers specifically for customers at the VITM Hanoi 2024 fair, it has created the best price for quality tour packages, with 3-5 star service standards.
With domestic tours, Free & Easy and Asia tours being the most popular with tourists, we have added more tickets for Phu Quoc, Thailand and Taiwan routes.
Outbound tours have many positive signals when approaching partners and customers from international markets, targeting key markets in Europe, Northeast Asia, Australia, America, India, etc.
"The unit has a working plan with about 50 pre-confirmed appointments, not including walk-in guests. Of which, about 40% of the units and partners have a plan to survey actual products and services to promote framework contracts," said Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu.

Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Tra - Marketing and Communications Director of Saigontourist Travel Company said that at the Fair, the company applied many special incentive programs in the package of 120 domestic and international tours. Up to 45% discount for domestic tour packages. Foreign travel applies a discount of 10 million VND for the 11-day long-distance tour to Brazil - Argentina.
"In particular, we are offering charter flights with discounts of up to 2 million to Korea - Jeju, Japan to see cherry blossoms, China tours with flights to Zhangjiajie - Phoenix Ancient Town...
After participating in VITM Hanoi 2024, we have attracted more than 500 customers to register to buy tours and combo packages, with revenue of 14 billion VND and have closed the package tour for the April 30 holiday with a total of 28,000 customers, including domestic and foreign guests," said Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Tra.
At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates to the accompanying units; large-scale booths; units with impressive booth designs; booths with special activities that attracted visitors;
