On October 3, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation continued to compete in cycling, athletics, sepak takraw, canoe sprint, badminton, boxing, chess and chess.
Vietnam Sepak Takraw team won the right to enter the final of ASIAD 19, women's 4 event.
Notably, in sepak takraw, Vietnam won a ticket to the final of the women's 4-team event after defeating China in the semi-finals.
In this competition, Tran Thi Ngoc Yen and her teammates easily defeated the host team of ASIAD 19 with scores of 21-10 and 21-6.
Vietnam's opponent in the final is Indonesia, the team that defeated Laos in the semi-finals.
This is an opportunity for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to win another gold medal at the 19th ASIAD because in the group stage we defeated this opponent.
Meanwhile, in the semi-final of the women's 75kg boxing category, boxer Liu Yanqiong lost to Li Qian (China), thereby only winning a bronze medal.
On the morning of October 3, Vietnam competed in the finals of 4 events of Canoe Sprint but did not win any medals.
In badminton, Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh won the right to enter the round of 16 in the women's singles. Meanwhile, Vu Thi Anh Thu lost to Goh Jin Wei of Malaysia.
In the men's singles, Nguyen Hai Dang lost to Thai badminton prodigy Kunlavut Vitidsarn with a score of 1-2.
In round 5 of standard team chess, although Le Quang Liem tied, the remaining three members of the Vietnamese men's chess team, Le Tuan Minh, Tran Tuan Minh and Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son, all won.
In Chinese chess, Lai Ly Huynh tied 1-1 with Weitong Zheng (China), Nguyen Thanh Bao beat Woo Alvin Tsung Han (Singapore) 2-0 on the first day of competition in the men's individual event.
In the women's individual event, Nguyen Thi Phi Liem lost to Jee Xin Ru (Malaysia) 0-2 while Nguyen Hoang Yen tied with Li Sih Yi (Chinese Taipei).
