TPO - Tan Ky Tan Quy road (starting point intersects with Binh Long road, ending point intersects with Ma Lo road) with a length of about 2km passing through Binh Tan district (HCMC) is being expanded from 8m to 30m and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Located at the northwestern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, Tan Ky Tan Quy Street is about 4.9km long, connecting Hoc Mon District, Tan Binh District, Tan Phu District, Binh Tan District and the inner city area. In recent years, this route has become overloaded and often congested during rush hour.
In March 2023, the project to expand nearly 2km of Tan Ky Tan Quy road (the starting point intersects with Binh Long road, the end point intersects with Ma Lo road, Binh Tan district) from 2 to 6 lanes with a total investment of more than 237 billion VND was started.
Up to now, the Compensation and Site Clearance Board of Binh Tan District said that the total number of households that have handed over the site to the construction unit is 371/380 households, reaching 97.6% of the total number of households cleared in the project, the remaining 9 households are dismantling and handing over the site. It is expected that Binh Tan District will hand over the entire site to the construction unit this May.
The representative of the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Traffic Works in Ho Chi Minh City (Traffic Board, investor) said that up to now, the project is simultaneously implementing the following packages: construction and installation 1 (section from Binh Long Street to Kenh Nuoc Den), construction and installation 2 (section from Kenh Nuoc Den to Ma Lo Street), construction and installation 5 (Lighting system; Construction and relocation of T50 tower of 110KV Binh Tan - Ba Queo line), construction and installation 6 (trees).
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Department, there are many technical infrastructure works on the route (water supply pipes, medium and low voltage power grids, information and telecommunication cable systems hanging on electric poles along both sides of the route) that need to be relocated and re-established.
Besides, it is still necessary to ensure the operation of the technical infrastructure system, which greatly affects the progress and organization of construction work.
"The project is being constructed while coordinating with the local authorities to carry out site clearance compensation. The Compensation Board of Binh Tan District will hand over the vacant land, and the contractor will start construction on each section," said a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport.
According to the investor representative, the project has so far completed about 50% of the volume and is expected to be completed and put into operation in December 2024.
Next to the Tan Ky Tan Quy road expansion project is the Tan Ky Tan Quy bridge construction project. According to the plan, this project will be resumed in June after 5 years of being "shelved".
Mr. Luong Minh Phuc - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Department said that it is expected that on May 30, Binh Tan district will hand over the site for the Tan Ky Tan Quy bridge project so that construction will start in mid-June and the project will be completed in December this year.
