Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung introduced to the delegation some main features of the province's socio-economic situation. In particular, the work of searching, collecting, exhuming and identifying martyrs' remains has received attention from the provincial leaders and the political system.
In the period 2013-2020, based on 288 sources of information provided and 435 surveys and verifications, Steering Committee 515 identified 255 locations suspected of having martyrs' graves in 11 localities in the province. From there, 246 locations suspected of having martyrs' graves were excavated; 10 mass graves and 72 individual graves were found; 8 graves with information, names and hometowns were identified; 11 locations had martyrs' remains but no remains...
After each excavation of martyrs' graves, the Provincial People's Committee directs units to verify, review, and match information to identify martyrs' identities and information about their relatives to serve the organization of memorial services and burials at the Martyrs' Cemetery.
Dong Nai province hopes that American veterans who fought in Dong Nai, especially in the areas of Bien Hoa Airport, Long Binh General Warehouse, Thanh Tuy Ha area and some other locations, will continue to provide information to effectively carry out the search, collection, exhumation and burial of martyrs' remains.
Mr. Tony Saich expressed his impression with the results Dong Nai has achieved, especially in the work of searching, collecting and retrieving martyrs' remains.
On that basis, within his authority, Mr. Tony Saich will connect veterans from both sides to provide information and support the search and collection of remains from both sides who died in the war.
