WATCH CLIP :
Regarding the incident of a truck running over two motorcyclists that occurred on December 16, 2023, on Nguyen Xien Street (Hanoi), Mr. HMH (the victim driving the motorbike) said that he had not yet received his vehicle back after being detained for investigation.
Specifically, on December 18, 2023, Mr. HMH and Ms. N. (the passenger transported by Mr. H.) went to the Road Traffic Police Team No. 7 (Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police) to report the incident, and the authorities conducted a field experiment. To serve the investigation, Mr. H.'s motorbike was temporarily detained according to the provisions of law.
"When my car was confiscated, I talked to the authorities and was told that I could get my car back a few days later. In order to quickly investigate the person who caused the accident, I strictly complied," said Mr. H.
Two weeks have passed since reporting and having his vehicle impounded, but Mr. H. still has not received any further information from the authorities.
Because the car is both a means of transportation and a "fishing rod", Mr. H. went to Traffic Police Team No. 7 to ask about the situation and was informed that the case had been transferred to Thanh Tri District Police for handling and investigation.
"Last Monday, I went to Thanh Tri District Police to ask, and they said they had just received the file and needed to continue to detain the vehicle for investigation. Since then, I have not had any further information," Mr. H. shared.
Also related to the incident, a representative of Traffic Police Team No. 7 confirmed that the case has been transferred to the Investigation Police Agency of Thanh Tri District Police for handling and investigation.
Up to now, the truck driver who caused the accident has not yet appeared before the authorities.
