On June 22, a clip went viral on social media recording a truck driver being assaulted on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway.

According to the image, the passenger bus with Lao Cai province license plate continuously encroached on the opposite lane, swerved, and cut in front of the truck to overtake it. The section of highway the passenger bus overtook had two lanes, with solid lines, prohibiting overtaking.

After passing the truck, the passenger bus stopped across the road, blocking almost the entire lane of the highway. Three men got out of the bus, one of them holding a stick-like object about 1 meter long.

The man, holding a stick-like object, climbed into the truck cabin and repeatedly beat the driver. Even though the driver had backed into the truck, he was continuously pulled out to be cursed and beaten.

After receiving the feedback, Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 1 (Team 1, Traffic Police Department) took action.

Authorities initially determined that the incident occurred at around 9:23 a.m. on June 22 at Km 216 on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway. The passenger bus with license plate 24B-009.19 stopped the truck with license plate 24C-051.65 traveling in the direction of Lao Cai - Hanoi.

Team 1 coordinated with Bao Yen District Police (Lao Cai) to find relevant parties to work.
