The 10th grade math exam score in Ho Chi Minh City decreased by more than half, the top scorer was 28.75 points.

In this year's 10th grade exam, the math questions were assessed as difficult, so the number of candidates achieving very high scores decreased significantly compared to 2023.

This year, in addition to 49 candidates scoring 10, only 31 candidates scored 9.75 points, 132 candidates scored 9.5. Meanwhile, in 2023, in math, there were 121 candidates scoring 10, 122 candidates scoring 9.75, and 749 candidates scoring 9.5.

49 students from 29 secondary schools got 10 points in math this year. Of these, 11 were from Tran Dai Nghia Specialized School. This is the school with the highest number of students getting 10 points in this year's exam.

The next ranked schools only had 1 or 2 candidates achieving 10 points. Some schools had two 10 points such as Saigon Practice, Le Thanh Tong, Ly Phong, Le Van Tam, Tran Quoc Toan 1 (Thu Duc City).

Notably, many of these scores came from students from suburban schools such as Xuan Thoi Thuong (Hoc Mon district), Trung Lap (Cu Chi district), Binh Tri Dong A, and Huynh Van Nghe (Binh Tan district).

There are 11 candidates who got two 10s in math and foreign language.

According to our statistics, candidate Nguyen Minh Anh, a student at Tran Quang Khai Secondary School, is the candidate with the highest score in the 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024. This candidate scored 10 in math, 10 in foreign language, and 8.75 in literature. This candidate did not take the specialized exam.

Review of 10th grade exam scores

After reviewing the 2024 grade 10 exam scores, candidates can request a review of their exam from June 21 to 24. The review will be completed before June 30.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training also said: no later than 4:00 p.m. on June 24, the department will announce the admission scores for specialized 10th grade, integrated 10th grade, and direct admission results.

It is expected that on July 10, the department will announce the 10th grade admission benchmark scores and the list of candidates admitted to grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the total number of candidates registered for the 10th grade entrance exam this year is 98,681.
