Mr. Lam Van Hong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Long Dien District (Ba Ria - Vung Tau), said that the Dinh Co festival in 2024 will be held by the locality from March 17 to 25 with many cultural and sports activities. This year's festival attracts a large number of people and tourists from all over the country to visit, burn incense, and worship. In addition to attending the Dinh Co festival to pray for peace, visitors can visit relics, famous landscapes, temples, and pagodas in Long Dien District, including the indispensable destinations of Long Ban Pagoda and Thien Thai Pagoda.

Visit Long Ban Pagoda nearly 180 years old
Long Ban Pagoda is also known as Long Dien village pagoda (formerly An Phu Thuong commune, Long Dien district, now Long Phuong ward, Long Dien town). The pagoda was built nearly 180 years ago but is still intact, preserving unique cultural and artistic architecture.

According to the People's Committee of Long Dien District, Long Ban Pagoda was built in the 5th year of Thieu Tri (At Ty year - 1845) by two monks Hai Chanh and Bao Thanh as the first abbots and were honored by the villagers as founders. The architecture of Long Ban Pagoda is majestic and magnificent with unique traditional sculptures, preserving spiritual culture and worshiping Buddhism. According to legend, Long Dien land used to have 9 dragons. The pagoda was built on the last part of Thuy Van mountain range, with many flat natural rocks like stone tables, so the villagers named it Long Ban Pagoda.

The temple was built in the shape of the letter "tam", in the East Asian style, consisting of 3 parallel layers of houses: the lecture hall, the main hall, and the ancestor's house. The temple grounds are flat, more than 3,000 m2 wide. In front of the main hall of the temple is a wooden stilt house, inside of which is a statue of "Tieu Dieu Taoist". The temple roof is covered with yin-yang tiles, the ends of the tiles have a border made of blue glazed ceramic.
Up to now, Long Ban Pagoda still preserves many important ancient artifacts, such as statues of Buddha, Jade Emperor, Quan Thanh De, 18 Arhats, Dragon Gods, Dharma Protectors... made of jackfruit wood; 8 wooden molds for printing Buddhist scriptures with Chinese characters engraved on wood; bells, including a large bronze bell with a diameter of 0.4 m, height of 1.2 m, and more than 150 years old.

Long Ban Pagoda, with its unique beauty of ancient architecture and artistic sculptures with long-standing cultural and spiritual values, has become a religious destination for locals and tourists. In 1991, Long Ban Pagoda was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national historical - cultural - scenic relic.
Thien Thai Pagoda
Thien Thai Thai Temple is located at the north of Dinh Co Mountain (Tam An Commune), started construction in 1925 by Venerable Thich Hue Dang (1873 - 1953), the 41st patriarch of the Lam Te sect, after a period of practicing and spreading Buddhism in the Central and Western regions and finally stopping in the Southeast region, taking the name "Thien Thai Temple" of the "Thien Thai Thien Giao Tong" branch of the ancestral place to name the temple.

Thien Thai Pagoda consists of the main hall, lecture hall, guest house and kitchen. According to the idea of Thien Thai Pagoda, the altar forms the word "ngu" by 4 stone pillars and 1 stone pillar in the middle, symbolizing the "ngu chau" or "ngu hanh", the 5 basic elements that make up the universe and human beings: metal, wood, water, fire, earth.
The gate of Thien Thai Pagoda is arranged with 5 arched doors. There are 4 outer doors, 4 inner doors opening to 4 shrines, symbolizing the eight trigrams, including 8 elements (càn, Khảm, Kent, Chấn, Tốn, Lý, Khôn, Đoài).

Dinh Co Mountain is not very tall, shaped like a giant conical hat on Tam An field. When going to Dinh Co, visitors enter the temple to burn incense.
