The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board has just submitted a request to the Ministry of Transport to conduct an appraisal of the Pre-Feasibility Study Report for the Ho Chi Minh Road Construction Investment Project, La Son - Hoa Lien section.
The project has a starting point - Km0 (La Son), connecting to the end point of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway section, located in La Son town, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province; the end point (Hoa Lien) - Km66 at Hoa Lien intersection, located in Hoa Lien commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city.
The total expected length of the project is about 64.95 km (of which the length of the route through Thua Thien Hue province is about 35.36 km; through Da Nang city is about 29.59 km).
Currently, most of the road surface of the project has been invested in construction according to the scale of 2 lanes, 11 m wide, basically built to coincide with the centerline of the 4-lane phase; some sections at the tunnel entrance and the approach road to the large bridge have the road surface built to the right or left of the centerline of the 4-lane phase. The roadbed has been invested in construction according to the scale of a 4-lane highway with a roadbed width of 22 m.
The route is currently organized according to the standards of a grade III road with an operating speed of 80 km/h, only limiting the operating speed to 60 km/h at 18 sections/14.4 km); at the same time, only motor vehicles are allowed to circulate, other vehicles (such as rudimentary vehicles, specialized motorbikes with a design speed of less than 70 km/h, motorbikes, two-wheeled motorbikes, animal-drawn vehicles, pedestrians, etc.) are not allowed to circulate.
The preliminary total investment of the project is about 3,011 billion VND, of which the construction cost is 2,531 billion VND.
The Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board proposed to maintain the scale, technical standards, and current route centerline that have been researched and built in the Ho Chi Minh Road construction investment phase project, La Son - Tuy Loan section under the BT contract form, to expand the road surface and bridge works according to the scale of the complete 4-lane expressway phase, 20.5 m wide road surface, 22 m wide roadbed.
This is an optimal investment option because the slope has basically been built sustainably according to the scale of a complete 4-lane roadbed, the bridge is larger than 50m offset to one side, suitable for expansion to 4 lanes. The slope reinforcement structure has also been sprayed with reinforced concrete; the residential roads on both sides of the route have been built according to the scale of a 4-lane highway.
The preliminary total investment of the project is about 3,011 billion VND, of which the construction cost is 2,531 billion VND; the remaining expenses are consulting, project management and contingency. The project investment capital is mobilized from the State budget.
If approved by competent authorities, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board will begin implementing the next steps to complete the project by the end of 2025 .
