Of the more than 27 hectares of forest converted for other purposes, there are more than 14.4 hectares of protective forest and more than 12.5 hectares of production forest. This conversion aims to implement 4 projects including: Suoi Tho reservoir project (Tien Phong commune, Tien Phuoc); Tam Hoa main road project (Nui Thanh) connecting from National Highway 1 to Vo Chi Cong road and DT613B; Component project 1 to complete Vo Chi Cong road; Component project 2 connecting road from Vo Chi Cong road to Dong Que Son Industrial Park connecting with National Highway 14H and National Highway 1.
According to the review of the Provincial People's Council's Ethnic Committee, the change of land use purpose is to ensure that the documents and procedures for implementing the next steps of the above 4 projects are necessary and within the authority, in accordance with the Provincial Planning and land use planning of localities.
The Ethnic Committee of the Provincial People's Council agreed with the proposal of the Provincial People's Council to decide on the policy of changing the purpose of forest use to another purpose for an area of over 27 hectares to implement the above 4 projects. At the same time, it is recommended that after being approved by the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee direct the inspection, review, and determination of location and boundaries to ensure consistency between the records and the field, in accordance with the forest land targets approved by competent authorities.
At the same time, update to ensure compliance with the Land Use Plan to 2030 of Tien Phuoc, Nui Thanh, Thang Binh districts; 5-year Land Use Plan 2021 - 2025 of Quang Nam province, Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 and other plans before deciding to change the purpose of forest use to another purpose in accordance with legal regulations. Along with that, direct investors to strictly perform the obligation to plant replacement forests in accordance with current legal regulations.
“During the implementation of projects, the Provincial People's Committee needs to direct specialized agencies and localities to closely inspect and supervise investors to properly implement the permitted area for forest use purpose conversion, absolutely not affecting forest land and forests outside the scope of the decision on forest use purpose conversion as mentioned above. In case of any problems, promptly report to the competent authority for resolution” - Mr. Dinh Van Huom - Head of the Ethnic Committee of the Provincial People's Council said.
