The Vietnam Road Administration has just sent a document to investors and BOT project enterprises to consider exempting road use fees for vehicles transporting goods to support people in flood-affected areas.
According to Mr. Bui Quang Thai, Director of the Vietnam Road Administration, in recent days, storm No. 3 (storm Yagi) has flooded the northern provinces of our country, causing great destruction and damage to people and property, seriously affecting all aspects of people's lives and economy, damaging thousands of houses, public infrastructure works, especially many bridges and key roads in the northern region.
Promoting the spirit of solidarity, “mutual love and support”, “the strong help the weak”; to support the transportation of relief goods to affected areas, help people overcome the consequences caused by storms and floods, stabilize their lives and restore production, the Vietnam Road Administration requests investors and BOT enterprises to consider and direct toll stations to exempt road use fees for vehicles transporting relief goods when passing through toll stations until new instructions are issued.
The Vietnam Road Administration recommends that investors and BOT enterprises coordinate with the regional road management area and relevant local agencies to organize lane division, traffic flow, and traffic guidance so that the above vehicles can pass through toll stations conveniently.
“All toll suspensions and fee exemptions for the above vehicles must be recorded and have their records and toll collection data fully archived in accordance with regulations,” said Mr. Bui Quang Thai.
