Sample test for 2024 competency assessment test of Hanoi National University of Education

The 8-subject sample test of Hanoi Pedagogical University has two parts: multiple choice and essay, with a time limit of 60-90 minutes.

In early February, Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE) announced sample exams to assess the ability of 8 subjects: Math, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography.

The Literature test gives three texts with 15 multiple choice questions (accounting for 30% of the score), one literary essay question, and one social essay question. Time limit is 90 minutes.

Other subjects have 28-32 multiple choice questions (accounting for 70-80% of the total score), 2-3 essay questions. Candidates will take the Math test in 90 minutes, the remaining subjects will take 60 minutes.

The structure of the exam remains the same as previous years, with candidates taking the test on paper. Hanoi National University of Education said the questions are from the 2006 general education program, and are assessed based on the level of understanding of core knowledge and the ability to reason, analyze, evaluate, solve problems and be creative.

2024 is the third year that Hanoi National University of Education has organized the competency assessment exam. The exam will take place on May 11 at three locations, including Hanoi National University of Education, Quy Nhon University and the University of Education - University of Da Nang. The exam results will be announced before June 1.

Candidates choose to register for a number of exams in the subjects of Math, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography and use the results to register for admission according to the requirements of each school.

Hanoi National University of Education said it will open online registration for the exam on the school's Information Portal from March 15 to April 15 at: https://ts2024.hnue.edu.vn/. The exam fee is 200,000 VND per subject. Candidates can only register for a maximum of one exam per session.

In addition to Hanoi Pedagogical University, 8 universities have recognized and used the results of this exam, including Hanoi Pedagogical University 2, Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University, the Pedagogical schools of Hue University, Da Nang University, Thai Nguyen University; Vinh University, Quy Nhon University and Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy. This list may increase in the near future.

Last year, nearly 4,700 candidates registered for the exam in Hanoi and Binh Dinh.
