The National Press Award on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Award) is an annual award organized by the Office of the National Assembly in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Vietnam Television to honor outstanding press works on the National Assembly and People's Councils.
According to the Summary Report of the Preliminary Judging Council's activities: after 6 months of launching (June 9, 2023 - December 5, 2023), the Organizing Committee received 2,679 entries from 138 central and local press agencies, Offices of the National Assembly Delegation and People's Council, domestic and foreign individuals...
After receiving, the Standing Organizing Committee, the Secretariat of the Award in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association completed the work of entering data of participating works, screening, classifying and selecting through many rounds to select works that fully meet the conditions, quality and excellence according to the Award Rules to conduct the Preliminary and Final Judging to determine the Awards according to the structure and value of the 2nd Dien Hong Award - 2024 approved by the Organizing Committee.

Press works focus on the main topics: reflecting and analyzing the significance of the results of the National Assembly's sessions, especially the Fifth and Sixth Sessions of the 15th National Assembly; reflecting and analyzing the activities and results of the implementation of the functions, tasks and powers of the National Assembly in constitutional activities, legislation, supreme supervision and decision on important issues of the country; on the foreign affairs activities of the National Assembly; innovations and improvements of the National Assembly and its agencies; activities and innovations of People's Councils at all levels; reflecting the thoughts, aspirations, recommendations and proposals of voters and people to the National Assembly and People's Councils, and voters' contributions to improve the effectiveness of the National Assembly and People's Councils.

The Secretariat screened 2,130 entries and selected 540 entries for the preliminary round. According to the evaluation, many entries were carefully and methodically invested in both content and form, with many article lines and modern forms of expression such as Megastory, Infographic, etc. The entries all closely followed and fully reflected the themes and topics according to the Rules of the 2nd Dien Hong Journalism Awards, had good content, closely followed the "breath" of life, especially highlighting the position, role, functions and tasks of the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels, etc.
Due to the short gap between the two seasons, the number of works is less than the first season, but the quality is better. Many works show elaborate investment and good quality.
The preliminary judging subcommittees have made great efforts to complete their tasks, ensuring that the judging is on schedule and follows the correct procedures to ensure the quality and reputation of the Award. The preliminary judging work was carried out urgently and continuously from December 10 to 18. The subcommittees operate impartially and objectively, closely following the Award Rules and Regulations to score and select works for the final round.
