At the invitation of the Communist Party of Argentina, a high-ranking delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, visited and worked in Argentina from August 21-24.
During his transfer, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia had talks, exchanges and contacts with the Acting General Secretary of the Communist Party of Argentina, Jorge Kreyness; Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Justicial Party, former Minister of Defense and Foreign Affairs, Jorge Taiana; Vice Chairman of the Education Committee of the House of Representatives, Blanca Ines Osuna, and the Argentina-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group; leaders of the province of Buenos Aires; President of the Argentina-Vietnam Cultural Institute, Poldi Sosa; leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Religion of Argentina.
The delegation also attended the International Conference on "President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam-Latin America Relations"; laid flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument, and visited and worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina.
At the meetings, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia highlighted the significance of the visit, which took place in the context of Vietnam and Argentina celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (October 25, 1973 - October 25, 2023) and preparing to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership. The visit aims to strengthen political trust, creating a foundation to continue promoting good cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia conveyed the warm greetings and regards of General Secretary and President To Lam and the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam to the leaders of political parties and people's organizations in Argentina; thanked the solidarity, friendship, support and assistance of the progressive people of Latin American countries, especially the people of Argentina, for the struggle for national liberation and reunification as well as in the cause of renovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland of Vietnam today.
The Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Propaganda Department respectfully thanked the friendly parties for sending letters and telegrams of condolences to our Party leaders on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia congratulated the achievements that political parties in Argentina have made in recent times, shared the difficulties Argentina is facing, and believed that with a long tradition and correct guidelines, political parties and mass organizations in Argentina will soon overcome difficulties and challenges, continue to gain many new victories in the struggle for peace, national independence, democracy, progress and social justice, and build an increasingly developed and prosperous Argentina.
Regarding the situation in Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia highlighted Vietnam's achievements and lessons learned after nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation policy; development goals, orientations in various fields, key points and strategic breakthroughs set by the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, striving to become a developing country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030 and a developed country with high income by 2045.
Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia also shared his assessment of the recent emerging world and regional situation, especially hot spots of interest to the international community; affirmed that Vietnam continues to consistently implement its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations, attaching importance to developing traditional friendly and cooperative relations with neighboring countries, major countries and traditional friends, including Latin American countries.

Leaders of Argentine political parties and organizations congratulated and expressed admiration for Vietnam's achievements in the renovation process as well as in implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress, especially in socio-economic development; believing that under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the support of the people and the international community, Vietnam will continue to gain even greater new achievements in the renovation process, successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress, and successfully build a prosperous, democratic, equitable and civilized Vietnam.
In addition, the leaders of political parties emphasized the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh and generations of leaders in the struggle for national liberation and reunification in the past as well as in the current renovation process, considering this a valuable example and lesson for political parties in Argentina and Uruguay.
Information on the situation of the two countries, the situation of political parties in Argentina, including the difficulties and challenges that leftist and communist parties are facing after the change of government, leaders of political parties shared policies and measures in the work of building and developing the parties.
Regarding the relationship between Vietnam and Argentina, the two sides agreed to continue to maintain delegation exchanges, increase meetings and contacts between all levels and people's organizations; improve the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms, expand other cooperation mechanisms; increase information and experience sharing in Party building and national development; coordinate and support each other at regional and international forums.
