Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists of Soc Trang province, term 2025

(NADS) - On the afternoon of October 18, at the Toan Thinh Convention Center in Soc Trang province, the Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Soc Trang province for the 2025-2030 term was successfully held. Artist Dinh Cong Tam was highly trusted and was elected to continue holding the position of Association President.

Attending the NSNA were journalist Le Nguyen, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and Chairman of the Art Council; Ms. Diep Thi Phuong Trang, Vice President in charge of the Soc Trang Provincial Association of Literature and Arts; representatives of provincial departments, branches, provincial Special Associations; and 37 members of the Photography Association.

Launching the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts in Soc Trang province for the term 2025-2030

In the past term, the Soc Trang Provincial Association of Vietnamese Photographers has always identified photography as not only a simple art form but also serving the local and national socio-political tasks. Members have always promoted their proactive, orienting and creative roles to promote the image of the country and people in Soc Trang in particular and the whole country in general through works imbued with the colors of national cultural festivals, or wonderful moments of life imbued with humanistic values. At the same time, they have regularly participated in international photo contests, thereby reaping many achievements, over 50 awards in more than 20 countries.

Notable artists include artist Tran Thuan who won 4 Gold Medals; Dinh Cong Tam who won 8 medals of various types; Nguyen Thi Thanh Kieu Phuong who won 1 Gold Medal, Ly Phu Tai who won 1 Gold Medal; in addition, members also have more than 100 photographic works that have won awards and exhibitions at the national, regional and provincial levels, and in 2020, at the 35th Mekong Delta Regional Art Photography Festival, the Association won the First Prize for the team...

After reporting on the summary of the branch's activities for the 2019-2024 term and the direction of activities for the 2025-2030 term, the Congress elected the new Branch Executive Committee consisting of 5 members: NSNA Dinh Cong Tam was elected as Branch President, 2 Branch Vice Presidents are NSNA Nguyen Thi Thanh Kieu Phuong and Trieu Hon Vo.

Artist Trinh Lam Tuyen received a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province for his outstanding achievements in art and photography activities, and a Certificate of Award from the Vietnam Association of Literature and Arts of Ethnic Minorities.

Speaking at the Congress of Photographers, Journalist Le Nguyen, Vice President of the Vietnam Photographers Association, highly appreciated the efforts, solidarity and achievements of the members of the Soc Trang Photographers Association. He said: “In previous years, in the regional art photography festivals of the Mekong Delta, Soc Trang province always ranked quite modestly, once or twice in 12th and 13th place. In the most recent regional photo contests, the unit has “left far behind” the provinces that previously always ranked first and second. Not only that, in national photo contests, Soc Trang authors have had many works exhibited and won prizes, including the annual excellent photo award of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists”.

NSNA, Journalist Le Nguyen, Vice President of Vietnam Association of Journalists, delivered a speech directing the Congress.

NSNA, Journalist Le Nguyen suggested that members should update their knowledge of digital photography technology. The Executive Committee of the Association should regularly organize periodic activities, disseminate information about photography such as analysis, complete comments on works before each photo contest, information on the contest theme, to help members be proactive in their creations to achieve the highest results.

Acknowledging and thanking the contributions and comments of the leaders of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Ms. Diep Thi Phuong Trang, Vice President in charge of the Soc Trang Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, added that in the past term, Soc Trang's photography activities have always received the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; the support of departments, branches, organizations and districts, towns and cities in the province and especially the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists has helped the province's photography activities to develop more and more and achieve more awards, contributing to the overall achievements of the province's literature and arts.

With such important contributions, during the term, many provincial artists were awarded noble titles such as EVAPA, ESVAPA... and the province's such as the 1st Soc Trang Provincial Literature and Arts Award, Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Association of Artists, Certificate of Merit from the People's Committee of Soc Trang province...

On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of Photographers presented a flower basket to congratulate the Congress, and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to Artist Trinh Lam Tuyen for his outstanding achievements, receiving a Certificate of Award from the Vietnam Association of Literature and Arts of Ethnic Minorities. The Provincial Association of Literature and Arts awarded 4 certificates of merit to members who had excellently completed their tasks in the field of Photography for the 2019-2024 term; agencies inside and outside the province sent flowers and congratulatory gifts, including a special gift of a painting depicting Uncle Ho's demeanor, presented by Mr. Trinh Cong Ly, Chairman of the Association of Science and Technology of Soc Trang province.
