Thousands of engineers and workers stick to the construction site
Never before has Hanoi simultaneously implemented so many projects, including transportation projects, as it does now.

The whole city is like a big construction site, with the rumbling of construction machinery. Everything is moving strongly, especially after the inspection visit of the President and Prime Minister.
According to the reporter's observations at the construction site of the Ring Road 4 project, since February 18, contractors have mobilized workers and accelerated the implementation of dozens of bridge and road construction projects.
At the construction site passing through the districts of Hoai Duc, Dan Phuong, Me Linh... thousands of workers and many machines were mobilized, working day and night.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Commander of Package No. 9 (section through Hoai Duc district) said that the contractor is simultaneously implementing all items of roadbed sand filling, weak soil treatment, bridge and culvert works and some other auxiliary works.
"We will complete 100% of the roadbed and bridge construction on schedule if there are no site problems.
Currently, we have mobilized over 140 pieces of machinery and equipment with nearly 200 officers, engineers, workers and employees, taking advantage of favorable weather conditions for construction," said Mr. Hai, adding that the weak ground treatment work will be completed in June 2024.
At package number 8 through Me Linh district, hundreds of workers are constructing the overpass girder project over the railway, the construction site is filled with the sound of machinery.
Mr. To Van Ba, Commander of Package No. 8, shared that the contractor is responsible for constructing items including 90 girders, 2 piers, and 15 pillars.
The unit has currently completed 30% of the contracted volume. It is expected that the section will be completed and technically open to traffic by December 2024.
The construction atmosphere of the underground stations of the Nhon - Hanoi railway line is no less bustling after the inspection visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the third day of Tet.
The construction site is bustling during the day, and at night the lights are on, filled with the sound of machinery racing to meet progress.
In the project to build two urban bridge units and organize traffic at Mai Dich intersection on Ring Road 3, the contractor is also simultaneously constructing many items.
Mr. Tran Van Quyen, Construction Manager of Tokyu contractor, said that after the Tet holiday, the contractor mobilized about 70 workers to construct the railing system, build the roadbed, and asphalt the turning path under the bridge...
Up to this point, the main items of the project have been basically completed, with construction output reaching about 82%. It is expected that by March 31, all items will be completed.
Don't delay progress
Speaking with Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Chi Cuong, Director of Hanoi Traffic Project Management Board, said that before Tet, he had a meeting with representatives of project contractors in the area to request that the holidays and Tet not interrupt the progress.
According to Mr. Cuong, regarding the progress of the Ring Road 4 project in 3 provinces and cities (Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen), the plan has been approved and more than 1,300/1,390 hectares of land has been recovered, reaching 94.36%, and 15,760/16,377 graves have been moved, reaching 96.23%.
The city has built 13 resettlement areas with a total area of 32.5 hectares, of which 5 areas have been basically completed and 8 areas are under construction.
On the entire parallel route in Hanoi, 32 construction teams have been organized, including 2 road construction teams and 9 bridge construction teams. The entire parallel route is expected to be completed in 2025.
Meanwhile, the expressway component project 3 (PPP project) is expected to start construction in the early fourth quarter of 2024.
On the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway line, a representative of the Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board (MRB) informed that, up to this point, the project has achieved an overall progress of about 78%, of which the Nhon - Kim Ma elevated section has reached 99.8%, expected to be operational in June 2024.
"According to the Prime Minister's direction, the project has been prolonged, which will increase the capital and reduce investment efficiency. Aware of our responsibility, we are working with contractors to speed up the progress, especially the underground stations, with the determination that we cannot let the progress fall behind.
Some underground stations of the project such as S12, recently workers worked through Tet to make up for the progress. After Tet, we continuously encouraged workers, increased salaries so that they could work hard at the construction site day and night," the MRB representative affirmed.
According to Plan 272 of the Hanoi People's Committee, the total number of key projects and works in the 2021-2025 period after adjustment of the city includes 42 projects in 11 fields, of which 15 projects are in the field of transportation.
Notably, among these, only the investment project to build Vinh Tuy bridge phase 2 and the elevated road along Ring Road 2 from Vinh Tuy bridge to Nga Tu So, combined with the expansion of the section from Vinh Tuy to Nga Tu Vong under the BT (build-transfer) contract form has been completed.
