As a highly rated TV series at the moment, Life is Still Beautiful is considered to have a good script and impressive cast. However, recent episodes of the series are receiving mixed opinions from a segment of the audience.
Accordingly, the film was originally planned to have 24 episodes, but now it has been updated to have a total of 30 episodes. In addition, recent episodes of the film focus on the tragedies of supporting characters such as the love story of Thach (Viet Hoang) and Nga (Ha Dan) or the mischief of Bat (Tuan Anh).

This makes many viewers feel tired because the film creates a feeling of tragedy that is too long and heavy. On the film's fanpage, a viewer expressed disappointment: "In fact, Vietnamese primetime films have always had difficulty at the end. Every film has a good beginning, a good middle, then the plot goes off somewhere, and then suddenly ends in disappointment.
Life is still beautiful, as if it could escape that rut. But through the recent episodes, my feeling is that it is difficult. The development of Bat's character is awkward. The love story between Thach and that girl feels bland.
Immediately, some other viewers agreed: "Yesterday's episode was interesting when it showed Luu and Luyen, the young couple, but when I came back and saw the character Bat, I had to turn off the TV and go to sleep", "Since Luyen's younger brother appeared, I haven't watched the show anymore", "It was interesting and engaging, but suddenly the recent episodes seem so boring".
Audiences thought the film was too long and unreasonably dramatic.
Even the scene where Luyen is busy "flirting" with the rich man Nghia or Ms. Hoa prohibits the love between Thach and Phuong Nga is also frustrating: "This is going too far in creating tragedy, Ms. Luyen will definitely be beaten up by the jealous woman", "Ms. Hoa was understanding and sympathetic towards the poor at the beginning of the movie, but now that she sees her daughter loving Thach, she suddenly gets angry, how unreasonable!"...
However, some other viewers think that these tragedies and details are necessary for the film: "A film must have a main and supporting role, good and evil. People watch the film for entertainment, don't be too strict. The whole crew has tried to satisfy the audience's taste", "The film is just like life, there must be sublimation and blandness, there are good people and bad people, that's what society is called", "Ms. Hoa's reaction is logical as a mother, no one wants their children to fall in love and marry into a poor family like Thach and Luu's father and son".

As an actress in the film, actress Ha Dan said that recently she noticed that her role and Viet Hoang's role have been more accepted by everyone:
"I am very happy to have recently received many positive responses from the audience. Once, when I live streamed and chatted with the audience, many people admitted that they were the ones who did not like Nga in the first episodes, but now they are "hooked". Viet Hoang also happily took pictures of positive comments from the audience on many different forums and sent them to me. We were all very happy to read such comments.
When we first started filming, the director told Hoang and me: "Act however you two want to, the audience must believe that you two really love each other." Now many viewers suspect that Hoang and I are really in love in the movie, and are shipping Nga Thach in real life, which makes me feel relieved and somewhat fulfilled in my mission to the director."

Regarding the audience's "turning around" with the character of Ms. Hoa when she opposed the love between Phuong Nga and Thach, Ha Dan said: "This was not beyond the crew's prediction. Both Anh Tho and I anticipated that in these episodes, Ms. Tho would receive many mixed opinions from the audience.
But gradually, as the audience continues to watch the film, they will understand the characters' psychology better and better, and the knots will be untied. I believe the audience will once again "turn around" and show more affection for the actors in the film.

Ha Dan also said that increasing the number of episodes broadcast was necessary: "The actual script I received was 30 episodes, but in reality, the broadcast will be much longer than this number. The reason is because the crew tried very hard to portray each character carefully, each character was given more color by the director so that the psychological development of each person is the most flexible and realistic.
The director also always considers and cuts many unnecessary scenes, condenses the dialogue as much as possible to avoid making the film cumbersome, but has no intention of prolonging the film. Hopefully, the efforts of the entire crew will please the majority of movie-loving audiences."
Regarding the tragedies in the film, especially the love between Phuong Nga and Thach, Ha Dan revealed: "The film reflects real life. In real life, I see that couples in love, whether they are "young children" or mature couples, will sometimes encounter incidents. Nga and Thach are no exception. In the next episodes, Nga Thach will have to face many more problems and bring many surprises to the audience."
