Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Editor-in-Chief of Giao Thong Newspaper Nguyen Thi Hong Nga said that this is the first time Giao Thong Newspaper has coordinated with Viettimes Magazine to organize a workshop on traffic with a topic that is of great interest to businesses and people, closely linked to digital transformation and electronic payments. This will certainly be a huge change in urban traffic management, in the habits and behaviors of each citizen when using traffic services.
"From the perspective of press agencies, we are very pleased to approach the draft Decree on electronic payment for road traffic that has just been submitted by the Ministry of Transport to the Government. We believe that when the new contents of the draft Decree are communicated to businesses and people, they will receive consensus and comments so that it can be implemented as soon as possible," journalist Nguyen Thi Hong Nga shared.

The workshop was divided into 2 parts. In the first part, there were 4 presentations from representatives of the Vietnam Road Administration, representatives of the State Bank's Payment Department, representatives of Vietnam International Payment Joint Stock Company, and representatives of Visa Vietnam.

Regarding solutions to promote cashless payments in the coming time, a representative of the State Bank said that it will complete the legal framework, upgrade the interbank electronic payment system; strengthen integration, infrastructure connection, and application of the banking industry with other industries and service sectors to expand the digital ecosystem; ensure security, safety, and confidentiality...
Speaking at the workshop, journalist Nguyen Ba Kien, Editor-in-Chief of VietTimes Magazine, said that today's workshop was very successful. The workshop lasted more than 3 hours, showing that this is an attractive topic because everyone, no one, does not participate in traffic. The workshop has very broad content, in addition to opening new policies for roads, there is also research for other areas such as railways, buses, and taxis.
"I think the development speed is very fast, along with the speed of infrastructure development and completion by 2025, especially when about 3,000km of highways will be put into operation, this is a breakthrough solution," Mr. Kien said, adding that the story of institutional building is very important, institutions always come first. Therefore, the discussions at today's workshop contribute to suggesting the future of the transport industry in the direction of how to perfect the institutions.
