Voters in Gia Lam district hope to have many traffic and environmental problems resolved.

At the meeting with voters, delegates of the Hanoi People's Council informed voters of Gia Lam district about the expected content, time and preparations for the 2024 mid-year regular session (17th session) of the 16th term City People's Council, term 2021-2026.

Accordingly, the Session is expected to review and approve 57 contents including regular and thematic reports and resolutions; present the content of the Summary Report on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan in the first 6 months of the year, key tasks in the last 6 months of 2024 of the City People's Committee; synthesize and respond to opinions and recommendations of voters of Gia Lam district after the 14th Session of the City People's Council.

Next, voters of Gia Lam district raised many opinions and recommendations for competent authorities to grasp and pay attention to. Voter Nguyen Thi Lan (Phu Thi commune) expressed her concerns about the current situation of the Thien Duc River section passing through Phu Thi commune being seriously polluted, affecting the daily life and production of the people. Voters and people of Phu Thi commune requested the City People's Committee to soon implement the project of embanking the Thien Duc River section passing through Phu Thi commune to overcome the situation of water pollution and environmental pollution in residential areas.

Voter Tran To Chiem (Van Duc commune) said that the locality is located outside the dike, adjacent to the Red River. Households have had certificates of land use rights for residential land + garden land, and have requested for many years, but so far have not been allowed by the competent authority to convert the purpose of using garden land and adjacent ponds to residential land to build houses. This has led to many households facing difficulties in living, because there are 3-4 generations living together, but the housing is cramped. Voters requested the People's Council - People's Committee of the city to issue specific instructions on allowing people in Van Duc commune to convert land use purposes and exercise the rights of land users according to regulations.

Voter Pham Van Mai, Bat Trang commune, proposed that the City People's Committee consider not handing over the 1,000-year Thang Long Exhibition Area to Bat Trang Ceramic Joint Stock Company, because the Department of Industry and Trade has now decided to recognize the Innovation Center, which is also a place for community activities of the people of Bat Trang commune on culture and pottery development. Voter Nguyen Manh Cuong, Bat Trang commune, proposed that the City People's Council - People's Committee study and solve the problem of treating emissions from flower and decane steaming kilns that cause environmental pollution in the commune.

Voters of Phu Dong commune requested the City to pay attention to measures to expand or find solutions to ensure traffic at the National Highway 1B underpass (underpass No. 11) in Phu Dong commune because this area has a very large traffic volume; the road surface in the underpass is too narrow, causing frequent traffic jams. Voter Nguyen Hong Dien, Duong Quang commune requested the City People's Council to pay attention to and resolve policies for a number of families in the commune.

Voter Nguyen Trong An, Ninh Hiep commune, reported that currently, the Nanh market area in Ninh Hiep commune is facing problems with the market area affecting business activities as well as not ensuring fire prevention and fighting conditions. He requested the City People's Council to pay attention and invest in building a new Nanh market to meet business needs and ensure fire prevention and fighting. In addition, voters recommended that the City People's Council have a plan to soon adjust the planning in Ninh Hiep commune to meet the living needs of the people, allowing people in Ninh Hiep commune to build 5-storey houses with 1 attic.

Voter Trinh Quang Phong, Trau Quy town, suggested that the city pay attention to directing relevant agencies to take measures to resolve and prevent traffic insecurity caused by auto repair businesses on National Highway 5. In addition, voters suggested that the city have a plan to relocate the National Highway 5 bus station to ensure traffic safety...

After listening to voters' opinions, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Minh Tan directly answered a number of issues under the authority of the Department such as: the issue of converting the purpose of using garden and adjacent pond land to residential land to build houses in Van Duc commune; the issue of treating emissions from flower steamers of voters in Bat Trang commune.

On behalf of the Hanoi People's Council Delegation, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Organization Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee Vu Duc Bao pointed out more clearly the advantages and difficulties in the socio-economic development situation in the first 6 months of 2024 of the city and suggested that in the last 6 months of the year, Gia Lam district should focus on collecting the state budget; perform well the tasks to ensure the completion of targets; resolve urgent people's issues. At the same time, the City People's Council delegates received the opinions of voters of Gia Lam district and said that they would forward the content of the voters' recommendations and reflections to the competent authority for consideration and response according to regulations.
