Kinhtedothi-On the afternoon of November 16, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha attended the National Great Unity Day of the residential areas of Ngoc Dong, Le Xa, Thuan Ton, Khoan Te, Da Ton commune, Gia Lam district. Also attending were representatives of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee and leaders of Gia Lam district.
Reporting on the results of the implementation of the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" of the residential area in 2024, Head of Thuan Ton village Do Thi Chanh said: The residential area of Ngoc Dong, Le Xa, Thuan Ton, Khoan Te has 3,208 households with 11,482 people, including 368 party members. Implementing the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" associated with the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", building Da Ton commune to complete the criteria of a model new rural commune, the villages have achieved outstanding results.
The rate of health insurance participants reached 95.7%; the rate of households recognized as cultural families reached over 96%; 4 villages were continuously recognized as cultural villages for many years. All 4 villages have only 10 near-poor households (0.18%); the average income per capita in the area reached 82.24 million VND/person/year; Da Ton commune strives to have no near-poor households by the end of 2024. The implementation of civilized housing in the residential area reached 96.42%.
Policy families, meritorious people, near-poor households, people in difficult circumstances... are always cared for and looked after thoughtfully. On the occasion of Lunar New Year, War Invalids and Martyrs Day, and the peak month "For the poor", villages, organizations and unions have donated more than 200 gifts with a total cost of more than 100 million VND; in coordination with the Red Cross, they called for help for 21 humanitarian addresses with a total monthly support of 86.5 million VND.
Villagers actively participated in supporting various funds: Gratitude Fund 91.03 million VND, For the poor 77.6 million VND, For Vietnam's sea and islands 99.337 million VND and all exceeded the target. In particular, the recent storm No. 3 caused great damage to people and property, responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the whole commune mobilized to support flood victims 356.55 million VND along with many other goods and supplies.
In 2024, Da Ton commune was selected to build a model new rural commune. Collectives and individuals in the residential area registered to implement 21 skillful mass mobilization models with a total amount of money and labor days worth more than 2 billion VND...
At the Great Unity Festival, the villages presented 65 gifts to families in difficult circumstances; and rewarded 36 collectives and individuals with achievements in the campaign.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha acknowledged and commended the achievements of the residential area of Da Ton commune, Gia Lam district in the past time, and at the same time requested the cadres and people of the residential area of Khoan Te, Ngoc Dong, Le Xa, Thuan Ton villages, Da Ton commune to continue to strengthen the great national solidarity bloc, together build the residential area and Da Ton commune to develop more and more; preserve and promote traditional cultural values; effectively implement the campaign "All people unite to build civilized urban areas" and "Build elegant and civilized Hanoians".
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the Party Committee, the government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi City and socio-political organizations at all levels, including Gia Lam district and Da Ton commune, to continue to pay attention to propagating and mobilizing cadres, party members and people to support the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; mobilizing people to participate in patriotic emulation movements, campaigns, and promote democracy to successfully carry out the set political tasks; continue to have more outstanding achievements, contributing to the development of Da Ton commune, Gia Lam district and the Capital to become more and more comprehensive.
At the festival, 20 outstanding families received gifts from the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi; Gia Lam District People's Committee presented gifts to 10 disadvantaged households in the commune; Da Ton Commune People's Committee presented 10 bicycles to students who overcame difficulties to study well and 20 gifts to disadvantaged households, and commended 5 groups that completed their tasks well.
