Propaganda work contributes to maintaining achievements in preventing and fighting Covid-19 epidemic

Over the past 3 years, the Covid-19 pandemic has caused severe damage globally. Following the direction of the central government, all levels, sectors and organizations in the province have strengthened coordination to effectively prevent and control the pandemic while promoting socio-economic development, ensuring stability in all aspects of social life. In that common achievement, there are important contributions from propaganda work.

When the Covid-19 epidemic broke out and became complicated, the entire political system and all classes of people in the province resolutely, synchronously and effectively implemented epidemic prevention and control measures with the motto "four on-site", "speedy, synchronous, all-people, effective"; promoted the responsibility of leaders to persevere with the five principles of "prevention, detection, isolation, zoning, and suppression of epidemics". Promote the role of self-management teams and community Covid teams at the grassroots level to "go to every alley, knock on every door, check every subject", promptly detect, trace, manage high-risk cases, test, isolate, and treat promptly; be ready in spirit, force, and facilities to quickly switch to a new state "from defense to proactive attack", improve the level of epidemic prevention and control work in accordance with the development of the epidemic in the area; promote the proactiveness and creativity of authorities at all levels, especially at the grassroots level, in implementing the dual goals.

Through creative, practical and effective solutions such as: establishing a network of focal points for collecting, processing and analyzing information with 433 focal points from the province to the grassroots level, it has helped the steering committees at all levels grasp information, direct and operate the epidemic prevention and control activities throughout and effectively; piloting software for managing, monitoring, caring for and treating F0 at home; participating in the experimental treatment program of Molnupiravir and some Covid-19 treatment drugs deployed by the Ministry of Health; deploying the operation of the hotline number 18009402 for instructions on treating F0 at home undertaken by Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy; resolutely directing the Covid-19 vaccination work, the peak of which is the "Spring Covid-19 vaccination campaign"...; organizing the establishment of 7 interdisciplinary working groups at the gateways to control people and vehicles entering and leaving the province during the isolation period and the peak of the epidemic; 54 patrol teams were established in districts and cities and 1,600 self-managed teams were established to conduct control at the grassroots level. Currently, the province has basically completed the vaccination rounds according to the number of vaccines allocated by the Ministry of Health, ensuring safety, correct subjects, and on schedule.

In propaganda work, all levels and sectors in the province focus on the motto "Communication goes first", proactively explaining clearly, promptly reflecting difficulties and problems, resolving people's concerns; helping people understand and share difficulties, actively support and voluntarily participate in epidemic prevention and control. The Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department directs and orients propaganda, posts information on the Internal Notice bulletin, Thai Binh Electronic Information Portal, "Electronic Party Member Handbook"..., promptly providing information to cadres, party members and people to effectively implement epidemic prevention and control work.

Over the past 3 years, more than 300 news and articles have been published on the platforms of central press agencies reflecting on the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic in Thai Binh province. The Provincial Radio and Television Station has produced and broadcast over 3,180 news articles and reports on radio and television; Thai Binh Newspaper has over 2,500 news, articles, photos, and video clips promoting the prevention and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic published in print and online Thai Binh Newspaper. The Department of Information and Communications has promoted the application of information through electronic apps that are widely installed and used by people such as: Bluezone, Ncovi, Electronic Health Book.... The whole province has printed and distributed 3,000 posters, 400,000 leaflets to propagate about Covid-19 prevention and control, established and effectively deployed hotlines (switchboard 18009402 has received over 11,131 calls, automatically answered on the system); telecommunications businesses have sent over 6.2 million text messages to mobile subscribers in the province to inform people to strictly comply with regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control. Communication on social networks zalo, viber, facebook... is focused on promoting with vivid, rich and diverse content. Thereby, promptly providing and handling issues of public concern: information about new cases; information about inaccurate rumors; information on management and treatment of Covid-19 patients; providing information and instructions for people to test for Covid-19 at home...

Propaganda work has also contributed to promoting social security activities, especially supporting people in and outside the province facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Over the past 3 years, agencies, units, business communities, organizations and individuals have actively donated funds and medical supplies to participate in epidemic prevention and control with a total amount of over 18 billion VND and many other equipment and materials; mobilized a force of over 800 medical staff, lecturers and students to participate in supporting epidemic prevention and control at the epidemic center; mobilized 3,056 medical staff and hundreds of students from Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Thai Binh Medical College to volunteer to participate in 7 interdisciplinary checkpoints of the province; many collectives and individuals have actively supported medical stations at the grassroots level to perform the task of managing testing, isolation and treatment of patients...

Covid-19 is an unprecedented pandemic. The World Health Organization (WHO) assesses the Covid-19 epidemic as a global health emergency. It is necessary to continue to closely monitor the developments of the epidemic situation, the changes and emergence of new strains of the virus and variants in the future; forecast the risk of the epidemic increasing or breaking out in any locality, at any time with different levels. Currently, the Covid-19 epidemic situation in provinces and cities across the country is showing signs of increasing again. Based on the results and experiences of the past time, in the coming time, the focus of propaganda work will continue to be on thoroughly grasping and strictly implementing the direction of the central and provincial governments in the prevention and control of Covid-19 and other infectious diseases. Propaganda and mobilization of people to further improve their awareness in epidemic prevention and control: spreading the message of Covid-19 prevention and control in the new situation (2K + vaccine + medicine + treatment + technology + public awareness and other measures); fully vaccinating when scheduled, when there are signs of suspected Covid-19 infection, testing must be done and proactively quarantined, and make medical declarations according to regulations. Continue to promote the model of community Covid-19 teams in epidemic prevention and control at the local level. Along with propaganda work, continuing to promote the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels; strengthening close supervision and monitoring of the epidemic situation; increasing the vaccination rate for target groups... will be solutions to contribute to controlling and repelling the epidemic.
