On May 13, in Binh Duong, a dialogue took place between the provincial People's Council delegates and union officials and workers. The event was an activity in response to Workers' Month launched by the Binh Duong Provincial Federation of Labor.

At the dialogue, there were over 10 opinions from voters in areas with a large number of workers such as Thuan An City, Di An, Tan Uyen and Ben Cat Town... questioning the elected representatives. The questions and recommendations mainly revolved around areas of life such as employment, social housing, security and order...

Many workers reported that the small and dilapidated boarding houses in the area made the workers' lives stuffy and of poor quality. In addition, the space and on-site entertainment activities were very limited, making the workers' spiritual lives poor.

Workers are also concerned because recently, real estate prices have increased, while social housing projects in the area are slow to develop or are sold at high prices (private investment), making it difficult for workers to access.

Workers call on the province to provide additional capital and land funds to rapidly develop social infrastructure for culture, sports, and affordable housing... in areas with a large number of workers.

Some say that businesses are currently facing difficulties, leading to workers' lives becoming precarious due to reduced working hours. Workers are asking the government to come up with more practical policies and quick support so that they can continue to hold on and wait out this period.

Issues of food safety and hygiene in spontaneous markets, lack of kindergartens in industrial parks, businesses owing social insurance, black credit surrounding workers with many consequences... were also raised by voters.

The issues raised were fully answered by the People's Council delegates and departments. The provincial leaders acknowledged and affirmed their acceptance of other recommendations and will continue to study them to find the best solutions in the future.

According to statistics, 3 years ago, there were about 1.2-1.3 million workers in Binh Duong. However, in recent years, the number of workers has decreased, now only about 1 million people.

The reason for this is because of negative fluctuations in employment, income... making life difficult, so many workers have left Binh Duong to return to their hometowns or moved to other localities to find better job opportunities.
