Previously, on February 1, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 137/QD-TTG to transfer and appoint Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Agencies of Nghe An province, to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training. The term of appointment is 5 years.
In his congratulatory speech to the new Deputy Minister, Minister Nguyen Kim Son expressed his gratitude to the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Party Central Committee, the Party Committees, the Government, ministries and branches for their support so that the Ministry of Education and Training can soon add another leader, ensuring normal leadership and direction; especially in the context that the education sector is carrying out many major tasks and challenges in the period of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training.
The Minister believes that with thorough training and practical experience from the grassroots and through working positions, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Chi has the full capacity, qualities, experience and expertise to fulfill the assigned responsibilities and overcome the challenges ahead.
It is expected that Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Chi will be in charge of the following areas: preschool education, political education and student affairs, physical education, emulation and rewards, ethnic education, children, etc.
According to Minister Nguyen Kim Son, 2024 is a key year for the education sector, a sprint year to complete the reform of general education, start building a new preschool education program, complete major institutional tasks and many other tasks... Therefore, the Minister hopes that Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Chi will promote all her capacity to fulfill her responsibilities.
New Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi was born in 1971, in Thanh Ngoc commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province. She graduated from university, majoring in Literature Pedagogy.
Before holding the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Ms. Chi was a teacher at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An province (from May 1993 to June 2005), then Vice Principal of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted (from June 2005 to June 2009).
From June 2009 to June 2014, she was Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training; from June 2014 to March 2019, she held the position of Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training.
She also held the positions of Secretary of the Cua Lo Town Party Committee, Nghe An Province (from March 2019 to August 2021) and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Agencies of Nghe An Province (from August 2021 to January 2024).
