Announcing the results of the national excellent student exam: Hanoi leads

(Dan Tri) - With 200 prizes, Hanoi students continue to lead the national high school excellent student exam for the 2024-2025 school year.

The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has just announced the results of the national high school exam for excellent students for the 2024-2025 school year.

Accordingly, Hanoi leads the country with 200 awards, including 63 awards in foreign languages.

Coming in second place is Ho Chi Minh City with 166 awards, including 55 awards in foreign languages.

Provinces and cities with a high number of students winning prizes include Hai Phong (102), Quang Ninh (88), Vinh Phuc (87), Thanh Hoa (77), Nam Dinh (84)...

The valedictorian of mathematics is a student at the University of Education High School for the Gifted, scoring 33.5 points. The valedictorian of physics scored 35.75 points and is a student at the Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted.

The National High School Excellence Exam for the 2024-2025 school year will be held on December 25 and 26, 2024. There are 6,482 candidates nationwide taking the exam, an increase of 663 candidates compared to the 2023-2024 school year. The number of prize-winning candidates is 3,803, accounting for 58.68%.

Candidates took the exam at 68 examination councils with 13 subjects including math, physics, chemistry, biology, IT, literature, history, geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, and Japanese. This year, for the first time, Japanese was included in the exam.

According to the current regulations for selecting excellent students at the national level, the total number of consolation prizes and above must not exceed 60% of the number of contestants; the total number of first, second, and third prizes must not exceed 60% of the total number of prizes; the number of first prizes must not exceed 5% of the total number of prizes.

According to the plan, next March, the Ministry of Education and Training will organize an exam to select high school students for national teams to compete in regional and international Olympics in 2025, for the subjects of math, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology.

A notable point is that this year's national high school exam is the first year the Ministry of Education and Training has applied the method of transporting exam questions through the Government Cipher Committee's system nationwide.

The smooth transportation of exam papers and organization of the exam is an important premise for implementing the method of transporting exam papers through the Government Cipher Committee's system for the high school graduation exam from 2025.
