(Fatherland) - On the evening of December 12, the Department of Tourism of Da Nang city held a press conference to announce the Da Nang Food Tour campaign - deployed for the first time in the city, promising to bring many interesting experiences for tourists.


The Danang Food Tour campaign, with the message "Enjoy Danang cuisine - Beyond delicious" "Enjoy DN food tour - Beyond Bites" not only introduces culinary destinations, local - regional and international specialties, but also brings tourists and locals exciting experiences. Cuisine does not stop at delicious dishes, but is also a combination of experiential space, professional service, friendly and hospitable service attitude and attractive stories that create meaning for tourists' experiences.

Culinary tourism destination

Speaking at the press conference, Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh said that in recent years, Da Nang has been affirming its position as one of the leading destinations in the region, with tourism products attracting tourists all year round; rich cuisine is one of the important factors in retaining and attracting tourists to Da Nang.

In 2024, along with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang will launch many unique culinary tourism products after passing the strict standards of anonymous Michelin Guide experts to be selected as one of 36 unique culinary destinations.

"This shows that Da Nang city's culinary tourism products are being affirmed on the world culinary map," said Ms. Hanh.

Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh hopes that the "Da Nang Food Tour" campaign will not only create new tourism products for the destination but also contribute to promoting Da Nang cuisine, attracting domestic and international tourists.

The Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City shared that in 2024, Da Nang tourism activities will continue to develop strongly and flourish, becoming a bright spot in the city's economic development. The number of visitors served by accommodation establishments is estimated at 10.75 million, an increase of 45% compared to 2023, exceeding 28% compared to the 2024 plan assigned by the City People's Committee. Of which, international visitors are estimated at 4.1 million, an increase of 2 times compared to the same period in 2023, exceeding 64% compared to the 2024 plan.

Da Nang is aiming to become a destination for tourists who love to explore and experience inspiring culinary quintessence from many different cultures.

Implementing Plan No. 114/KH-UBND of the City People's Committee dated May 24, 2023 on Developing cuisine into a unique tourism product in Da Nang city from 2023 to 2030, the Department of Tourism issued a plan on developing cuisine into a unique tourism product in 2024, focusing on building and implementing the Da Nang Food Tour campaign.

"With the message "Beyond Bites", the program not only introduces culinary destinations, local - regional and international specialties, culinary establishments selected by Michelin Guide, but also brings tourists and locals exciting experiences with professional services, friendly and hospitable service attitudes and fascinating stories that contribute to making tourists' trips to Da Nang city more meaningful and impressive", Ms. Hanh shared.

Digital Food Map and Food Passport

The Da Nang Food Tour campaign includes the following main activities: Da Nang Culinary Passport: Selection of 50 culinary locations with a variety of local, regional and international culinary styles, selected according to criteria of food safety, quality of special dishes, and professional services. From December 15, 2024 to March 15, 2025, the Da Nang Department of Tourism will issue more than 10,000 Culinary Passports in both Vietnamese and English. Tourists or residents holding a Culinary Passport and experiencing 50 unique culinary locations will enjoy many special incentives exclusively for the program.

Digital culinary map: The Department of Tourism of Da Nang City has built the website www.foodtourdanang.vn with the desire to provide additional tools to help tourists explore the attractive and unique culinary world of Da Nang City, including information on local specialties, regional cuisine of Vietnam and international cuisine, selected Michelin Guide locations, information on specialty gifts with a diverse list and 400 reputable and quality culinary locations.

In addition to the Da Nang Food Tour Campaign, on this occasion, people and tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy connecting events at the Christmas and New Year Festival 2025 (held for the first time in Da Nang) taking place from December 14, 2024 - January 2, 2024, on both sides of the Han River (Dragon Bridge area) with many unique and attractive activities.

The leader of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang city shared that in order for the "Da Nang Food Tour" campaign to continue to attract domestic and international tourists, spreading the image of Da Nang city as a unique culinary tourism destination with many new experiences, in 2025, the unit will also continue to deploy many more attractive activities such as: culinary passport program with the theme Street Food and Fine Dining, Chef Tour program, Food Race, culinary activities and festivals; coordinate with the Vietnam Restaurant Association, Culinary Culture Association to conduct assessments of facilities, service quality and build new culinary products associated with tourists' experiences...

Da Nang hopes that the "Da Nang Food Tour" campaign will not only create new tourism products for the destination but also contribute to promoting Da Nang cuisine, attracting domestic and international tourists. This is also an opportunity for the city to enhance the recognition of the culinary destination brand on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world, contributing to developing cuisine into a unique tourism product of Da Nang.
