This afternoon (December 1), a private source of VietNamNet reporter said: many provincial and municipal People's Committees have received documents from the Investigation Police Agency of Thai Binh Provincial Police regarding the request for coordination in reviewing and providing information related to petitions, transfer forms or other documents signed by Mr. Luu Binh Nhuong in his capacity as a National Assembly Delegate or Deputy of the People's Aspirations Committee.

Specifically, the Investigation Police Agency is investigating Mr. Luu Binh Nhuong for the crime of Extortion of property according to criminal case decision No. 45.

Mr. Luu Binh Nhuong was prosecuted and temporarily detained on November 14.

To serve the investigation of the case, based on Article 88 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Investigation Police Agency of Thai Binh Province Police requested the Chairman of the Provincial and Municipal People's Committee to direct departments, branches, and affiliated units to coordinate in serving the investigation of the case related to Mr. Luu Binh Nhuong.

The proposed coordination content is to review all petitions, transfer forms or other documents signed by Mr. Luu Binh Nhuong in his capacity as a National Assembly delegate or deputy head of the National Assembly Standing Committee's Petition Committee to send to the People's Committees of provinces, cities or affiliated departments, branches and units.

Documents, transfer forms or documents with other content signed by Mr. Nhuong along with the response documents of the localities need to be reviewed, the time on the documents is from July 2016 to present.

As reported, on November 14, Thai Binh Provincial Police prosecuted, temporarily detained and searched the residence and workplace of Mr. Luu Binh Nhuong (60 years old, residing in Tay Ho District, Hanoi) for the crime of "extortion of property". Mr. Nhuong was arrested while serving as Deputy Head of the National Assembly's People's Aspirations Committee.

The prosecution is the result of an expanded investigation into the case of Pham Minh Cuong (37 years old, nicknamed Cuong "quat", residing in Thuy Xuan commune, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province) and the act of "extortion of property".
