Recognizing the importance of digital transformation, the Vietnamese Government has issued many policies and strategies to promote this process. In 2020, the Prime Minister approved the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030, with the goal of bringing Vietnam into the top 50 countries in e-Government.

To achieve this goal, the Government has set out key tasks such as building digital infrastructure, developing digital data, ensuring network information security and training high-quality human resources. At the same time, ministries, sectors and localities have also developed digital transformation plans suitable to their specific characteristics and conditions.

Despite many positive results, the digital transformation process in Vietnam still faces a number of challenges. The information technology infrastructure is not yet synchronized, especially in rural and mountainous areas, causing difficulties in implementing online public services. In addition, awareness of digital transformation among a number of officials, civil servants and people is still limited, affecting the effectiveness of implementing related programs and projects.

In addition, cybersecurity issues also pose many challenges as the number of cyber attacks is increasing. According to data from the National Cyber Security Monitoring Center (NCSC), in 2023, Vietnam recorded more than 6,000 cyber attacks causing incidents to information systems, an increase of 12% compared to 2022.

With the determination of the Government and the consensus of the whole society, the process of digital transformation and building a digital government in Vietnam is making steady progress. The application of digital technology not only helps to improve the efficiency of state management and the quality of public services, but also promotes socio-economic development and improves the quality of people's lives.

In the future, Vietnam aims to become a fully digitalized country, with the digital economy accounting for a large proportion of GDP, the Government operating effectively on a digital platform and people benefiting from convenient digital services. To achieve this, it is necessary to continue promoting the proposed solutions, while flexibly adjusting them to the actual situation and development trends of the world.

Digital transformation and building a digital government are inevitable trends in the context of the 4.0 industrial revolution. Vietnam has achieved many encouraging achievements in this field, but also faces many challenges. With the efforts of the Government and the whole society, along with the synchronous implementation of solutions, Vietnam can completely achieve the goal of becoming a comprehensive digital country, contributing to enhancing its position in the international arena and bringing benefits./.
