On the morning of January 1, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh and leaders of the Department of Tourism and Vietnam Airlines in Hue City welcomed guests on the first flight on the first day of the new year 2025.


At 9:15 a.m. on January 1, flight VN6317 of Vietnam Airlines carrying more than 100 passengers departing from Hanoi landed at Phu Bai International Airport, Hue City.

This is also the day Hue officially became the 6th centrally-governed city of Vietnam.

In particular, the 4 luckiest passengers on the "first flight" to Hue City on the first day of the new year were given 4 round-trip domestic air tickets of Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and souvenirs from the Hue City Department of Tourism.

According to the leader of Hue City Department of Tourism, the program to welcome the first flight and tourists to Hue City in 2025 - is one of the opening activities to respond to Hue Festival 2025 associated with the orientation of the Four-Season Festival.

This is also the program to kick off a series of events and tourism activities of Hue City in 2025, welcoming Hue - a centrally-governed city and the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 with the theme "Hue - Ancient capital, new opportunities".

The international tourist market mainly comes from ASEAN countries, Northeast Asia, Western Europe, North America, and Australia. Tourism revenue in 2024 will reach about VND 7,900 billion, an increase of 19.6% compared to 2023.

In addition, Hue City received a series of awards and titles from a number of international tourism organizations, magazines, and information channels, contributing to communicating and promoting Hue tourism destinations and products in the region and globally, attracting traditional and potential international tourist markets.

With a series of activities and events held during the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025, Hue expects to attract about 4.8-5 million tourists, of which international visitors account for about 38-40% of total visitors; total tourism revenue reaches about 10,800 - 11,200 billion VND.
