The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued Decision No. 650/QD-BVHTTDL on organizing the National Finals of the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2024.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Department of Libraries to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to organize the National Finals of the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2024.

The contest aims to inspire passion, promote reading movement among young generation, encourage sharing, spread love of reading, contribute to developing reading culture in schools, communities and building a learning society in Vietnam.
Through its activities, the Contest affirms the position and role of Vietnamese culture, especially reading culture, in contributing to spreading knowledge, improving people's intelligence, creativity, nurturing personality and soul, forming a healthy lifestyle, arousing patriotic traditions, national pride, and aspirations for the development of a prosperous and happy country for the young generation.
According to the Plan, the Launching Ceremony of the Competition will take place in April 2024 in Hanoi; the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of the National Final Competition will take place in October 2024 in Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province, organized in person combined with online (livestream) broadcast on the Vietnamese Books and Wisdom Channel (Channel managed by the Department of Libraries).
Launched in 2019, the Reading Culture Ambassador contest organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Libraries has created a reading movement and spread reading culture widely in the community, especially among students nationwide. Over the past 4 years, hundreds of thousands of students have participated in the contest, thousands of entries have been sent in, with rich, diverse, creative content and unique expressions. Each year, the Organizing Committee selects and awards 200 to 300 authors with outstanding entries that have the effect of spreading reading culture, among both school and university students. The Reading Culture Ambassador has become an annual contest that attracts the participation of a large number of students nationwide. |
