Efforts to restore and improve
Quang Nam Newspaper has reported many times that, for various reasons, since September 1, 2020, Da Nang has implemented a policy of adjusting the route of the bus routes connecting Quang Nam - Da Nang out of the city center.
Previously, when entering the inner city, buses approached schools, hospitals, markets, and supermarkets, so there were quite a lot of passengers. Now, buses cannot enter the inner city. This makes passengers from Quang Nam to the outskirts of Da Nang not know what means of transport to use to get to the inner city, so they are no longer interested in using them.
In addition, technology cars, along with disguised cars and “unlicensed cars” attracting customers, have made old buses even more miserable. With mounting losses, bus transport businesses have ceased operations.
Implementing Program No. 01 dated August 1, 2022 of the Standing Committee of Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of Da Nang City Party Committee on serving trade and travel of people of the two localities; along with the directive documents of the Provincial People's Committee and the City People's Committee, the Department of Transport of Quang Nam has worked many times with the Department of Transport of Da Nang City.
Thereby, it aims to develop and complete the connection plan and unify the content, method, and implementing unit to organize the selection of a pilot unit to connect the two non-subsidized two-way bus routes Da Nang - Tam Ky and Da Nang - Hoi An.
Assigned to preside, by March 18, 2024, the Department of Transport of Da Nang City issued decisions approving the results of selecting transport units to provide public passenger transport services for 4 non-subsidized bus routes.
Route 02 is 30.5km long, with the route: Central bus station - Nam Tran - Ly Thai Tong - Nguyen Tat Thanh - Thuan Phuoc bridge - Le Duc Tho - Hoang Sa - Vo Nguyen Giap - Truong Sa - Nam Ky Khoi Nghia - Tran Dai Nghia - Vietnam - Korea University bus station.
LK02 bus route is 23.2km long with the route: Vietnam - Korea University bus station - DT607 road - Nguyen Tat Thanh - Hoi An bus station - Ly Thuong Kiet - Tran Nhan Tong - Cua Dai - Au Co - Cua Dai inland waterway wharf parking lot.
That is, inner-city bus route number 02, adjacent bus route LK02, inner-city bus route number 21, adjacent bus route LK21.
Notably, passengers using route LK02: Da Nang (Vietnam-Korea University) - Hoi An (Cua Dai) in the direction from Hoi An to Da Nang who want to enter the inner city area will not need to get off at the Vietnam-Korea University Bus Station, then transfer to another means of transport as before, but will continue on route 02, the end point is at Da Nang Central Bus Station.
Similarly, people using bus route LK21: Da Nang (Southern bus station) - Tam Ky in the direction of Tam Ky to Da Nang will be transported along route number 21, the end point is at Da Nang Central Bus Station.
Satisfy expectations
Bus routes No. 02 and LK02, No. 21 and LK21 are “two but one”. According to Mr. Le Quang Hieu - Deputy Director of Quang Nam Department of Transport, the high-quality bus routes mentioned above are being eagerly used by residents and tourists who regularly travel to Da Nang, Tam Ky and Hoi An.
During the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year, the two Departments of Transport will announce the operation of these adjacent bus routes. The operation of the above bus routes will reduce the number of motorbikes on the road, ensure traffic safety, and be in line with the planning of the transport network.
Hearing the news of the reopening of the Tam Ky - Da Nang bus route to the inner city and vice versa, Ms. Tang Thi Trang - resident of Binh An block, Nam Phuoc town (Duy Xuyen) said that she and her neighbors were very happy to soon be able to use the bus again at affordable prices, suitable for the income of most people.
“Since the Tam Ky - Da Nang bus stopped operating, many passengers, especially the elderly, had to wait for hours to catch a bus. Now that this bus route is back with a convenient route, it is good news for many people,” Ms. Trang shared.
Living in Da Nang but working in Tam Ky, Mr. Cao Thanh Minh said that reopening bus routes directly into Da Nang city center is necessary, reasonable and logical.
Because workers, students, people going for medical treatment, visiting relatives between the two localities always choose to take the bus all the way from Tam Ky to Da Nang city center and vice versa because it is affordable...
As the winning bidder to operate the above mentioned bus routes, Phuong Trang FUTA Bus Lines Joint Stock Company uses modern B26 buses (18 seats, 8 standing). The company representative shared that enough drivers have been recruited, and the vehicles are ready in Ho Chi Minh City to be sent to Quang Nam and Da Nang.
The total fare (including inner city) for the route from Da Nang to Tam Ky is 39,000 VND/passenger; 35,000 VND/passenger for the route from Da Nang to Hoi An.
