Preparing for the launching ceremony of the emulation movement "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide

Pursuant to the Prime Minister's Conclusion Notice at the meeting of the Central Emulation and Reward Council (Notice No. 422/TB-VPCP dated October 19, 2023 of the Government Office) on the fact that the Central Emulation and Reward Council discussed and agreed to launch the emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" from now until 2025; on the basis of discussion and agreement with relevant ministries, branches and agencies, the Central Emulation and Reward Council in coordination with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will organize the launching ceremony of the emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide.

The launching ceremony aims to call on and mobilize all levels, sectors, agencies, organizations, individuals and people of all walks of life to compete to successfully achieve the goal of "completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households, and people affected by natural disasters and climate change" nationwide in the spirit of Resolution No. 42-NQ/TW dated November 24, 2023, the 8th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee on continuing to innovate and improve the quality of social policies, meeting the requirements of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the new period. Practically responding to the emulation movement "For the poor - Leaving no one behind" launched by the Prime Minister; towards the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front - Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2025); Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); welcoming Party Congresses at all levels and the 14th National Congress of the Party (term 2026 - 2031).

The organization of the Launching Ceremony must ensure solemnity, practicality, appropriate scale and form, creating a strong spread throughout society and all classes of people, enhancing the responsibility of Party committees at all levels, authorities, and organizations, encouraging the direct support and companionship of agencies, businesses, organizations, and individuals for the poor, people in difficult circumstances, and poor localities nationwide.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and gave their opinions on the draft plan for the Launching Ceremony, focusing on agreeing on the time, location, guest list, and supporting resources to achieve the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide; and the content of propaganda before, during, and after the Launching Ceremony.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Hoang Cong Thuy said that based on the opinions of the delegates attending the meeting, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will coordinate with relevant agencies to develop a project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide. The launching ceremony of the emulation movement "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide is expected to take place in mid-April 2024 in Hoa Binh province.

Vice Chairman Hoang Cong Thuy suggested that relevant agencies such as the Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and Ministry of Home Affairs carefully prepare for the launching ceremony of the emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide, ensuring practicality, effectiveness, and suitability to the actual situation.
