Select and call citizens to join the army in one batch
The Ministry of National Defense has just issued Instruction 4705/HD-BQP on recruiting and calling citizens to join the army in 2025.
Accordingly, in 2025, citizens will be selected and called to join the army in one batch. The military transfer period is from February 13 to February 15, 2025 (ie from January 16 to January 18, At Ty year).
For localities that conscript soldiers, the Ministry of National Defense noted that they should perform well the work of registering for military service and managing citizens of military service age; improve the quality of voting and recommending male citizens of military service age to participate in the preliminary selection process to ensure democracy, fairness and transparency.
Specifically, localities organize the review of citizens temporarily deferred from military service, exempted from military service, and citizens eligible for military service strictly and seriously, not allowing the wrong subjects or missing citizens to join the army.
In 2025, the military transfer period is from February 13 to February 15, 2025.
The Ministry of National Defense requires localities to pay attention to the health standards for selecting and calling citizens to join the army in 2025, which must comply with the regulations issued in 2023 by the Minister of National Defense. In particular, the eye standards will still comply with the 2018 regulations of the Minister of National Defense.
Notably, according to Instruction 4705/HD-BQP, it is important to focus on selecting citizens who have graduated from universities and colleges with professions suitable for the needs of arrangement and use in order to select a source of high-quality citizens to join the army to meet the requirements of the task of building the army in the new situation. At the same time, select children from ethnic minority areas (under 10,000 people) to create a source of grassroots cadres for the locality; ensure that all communes, wards and towns have citizens to join the army; prioritize the allocation of military recruitment quotas suitable for each locality associated with the mobilization areas of units up to the district level.
Conduct “rounded” recruitment with the motto “whoever is recruited is sure”; minimize compensation, elimination and payment after military service. Coordinate and create conditions to help units penetrate “three meetings, four knowledge” and units assigned with the quota of selecting female citizens to join the army to comply with regulations.
For units receiving soldiers, the Ministry of National Defense requires a strict review of the standards for new soldiers; coordination with the locality where soldiers are assigned and timely notification of unqualified cases (if any), implementation of compensation to ensure quality, time and reporting to the Ministry for monitoring and direction. Timely review and make a list of new soldiers and relatives eligible to apply for health insurance cards within the prescribed time.
Female citizens can volunteer to join the army.
Regarding the selection and calling of female citizens to join the army in 2025, in addition to the general conditions and standards as for the selection and calling of male citizens to join the army, female citizens must have a voluntary application to serve in the Army, confirmed by the family representative and the People's Committee of the commune where they permanently reside, and meet specific conditions and standards.
Requirements include: from 18 to 25 years old; citizens who have graduated from college or university must be up to 27 years old; unmarried, have no children; meet health standards of type 1 or type 2 according to regulations. Height must be from 1.60m or more, balanced appearance, fresh appearance; have graduated from intermediate training or higher; priority is given to citizens who have graduated from university or college with training in a field suitable for the needs of the Army. In case of talent, it will be implemented according to separate regulations of the Ministry of National Defense.
