(Chinhphu.vn) - President of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) John Neffer said: "If anyone in the US asks where is the most successful, we will say it is Vietnam. We have great confidence in the success of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam and hope to have effective cooperation in this field."
April 4, following the 2024 Senior Leadership Program (VELP, Boston), In Washington DC, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai attended a Business Forum, received the Deputy Director of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), the President of the Semiconductor Association (SIA) and a number of leading businesses in the land of the stars and stripes.

At a meeting with President of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) John Neffer, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai highly appreciated SIA's activities in promoting cooperation and developing Vietnam's semiconductor industry.
The Deputy Prime Minister shared that Vietnam is actively preparing conditions such as: Training human resources; researching preferential policies in line with the spirit of "harmonious benefits, shared risks"; building strategies, projects, and policies to create a legal corridor to promote cooperation with countries to develop the semiconductor industry, including the United States.

The SIA Chairman appreciated the Vietnamese Government's efforts in facilitating the development of the semiconductor industry and Vietnam's focus on training high-quality human resources and focusing on the transition to renewable energy.
Expressing "if anyone in the US asks where is the most successful, we will say it is Vietnam", the SIA Chairman emphasized: "We have great confidence in the success of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam and hope to have effective cooperation in this field".
Mr. John Neffer hopes that Vietnam will pay more attention to creating more favorable conditions for SIA member enterprises. Expressing his impression of Vietnam's viewpoint of "harmonizing benefits and sharing difficulties", SIA Chairman pledged to continue accompanying Vietnam in the process of developing the semiconductor industry in the coming time.

Also at the seminar, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai and representatives of several Vietnamese ministries and sectors answered specific concerns of businesses in the fields of energy, healthcare, and aviation.

At the meeting with Deputy Director of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Nisha Biswal, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai assessed that the priority areas of the US International Development Finance Corporation are consistent with Vietnam's development priorities.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai believes that DFC and Vietnam still have much room and potential for cooperation, and suggested that DFC continue to support Vietnam in investing in infrastructure, developing renewable energy, promoting science and technology, and innovation.

The DFC Deputy Director said that after his visit to Vietnam, President Biden asked DFC to expand its operations in Vietnam and DFC is looking for ways to implement President Biden's direction, the first of which is to promote the opening of an office in Vietnam.
Ms. Biswal said that Vietnam is one of DFC's leading important partners in the region and DFC has increased its investment and financial support from 15 million to 150 million USD in Vietnam over the past 2 years.
Ms. Biswal said that many cooperation projects between the two sides have been implemented very effectively and pledged to continue promoting private investment activities in Vietnam.

Vietnam is one of the most potential markets in the region.
During private meetings with the Presidents and Leaders of several US businesses such as Intel, Dell, Apple and Boeing, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the investment and business activities of these businesses in Vietnam and said that the Vietnamese Government will create favorable conditions for businesses to expand investment, production and business in Vietnam.
Leaders of US businesses assessed that in the current context, US businesses are increasingly interested and continue to have a long-term investment and business strategy in Vietnam; assessed Vietnam as one of the most potential markets in the region; thanked the Vietnamese Government for always paying attention and directing ministries, branches and localities to further improve the business environment./.
