On July 15, the Ministry of Planning and Investment held a conference to review the direction and management work in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2024. Referring to the major tasks set for the entire Planning, Investment and Statistics sector in the last 6 months of the year, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung noted the need to effectively implement newly issued solutions, policies and regulations, and at the same time have new, breakthrough solutions for growth and development to meet expectations and new requirements set for the last 6 months of the year and the whole year of 2024. "We must not be subjective or satisfied with the achieved results. If we have done well, we need to do better. If we have been effective, we need to be more effective, and be more creative in our advisory work. We must closely follow the situation, proactively create and exploit new opportunities for national development," said the Minister. The Minister said that when the country's position and strength are constantly enhanced, if we know how to seize the opportunity, challenges can become a driving force for us to move forward, develop and catch up with other countries. Therefore, the Planning and Investment sector must further promote the spirit of initiative in reform, development, long-term vision and strategy, breakthrough thinking, innovation, taking development for stability to advise on new directions and tasks for the whole country, sectors, fields and localities in the period of 2026-2030. At the conference, representatives of the functional Departments and Offices of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and representatives of the Departments of Planning and Investment of localities focused on discussing the situation and results achieved in the first 6 months of the year; identifying shortcomings and limitations and analyzing the causes and lessons learned in the direction and administration work. From there, the direction, tasks, solutions and action motto of the Ministry in the last 6 months of the year were proposed. In particular, the Planning and Investment sector will focus on continuing to direct and operate resolutely to complete the projects and tasks assigned by the Government and the Prime Minister; closely follow the world and domestic economic situation to promptly advise on appropriate solutions and policies to effectively implement the goals and tasks of the socio-economic development plan. As an advisory body of the Government, the Ministry of Planning and Investment also focuses on promoting administrative procedure reform; advising the Government and the Prime Minister to direct the reduction and simplification of regulations and administrative procedures related to enterprises and business conditions to remove difficulties and obstacles for enterprises.
