Positive Contribution
In 2024, Vinh Long province's socio-economic situation achieved comprehensive results in all fields, with 21/21 main targets reaching and exceeding the set plan (of which 8 targets were exceeded); notably, industrial production activities recovered quite well, the Industrial Production Index increased by 13.84%; exports reached over 1 billion USD, exceeding the target set by the province for the period 2021 - 2025...
That result has the positive contribution of the Department of Planning and Investment in advising the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to issue mechanisms, policies, plans, and action programs on socio-economic development; improve the investment, business, and public investment environment. At the same time, the Department of Planning and Investment also promptly organizes the implementation of tasks assigned by the Provincial People's Committee on economy, investment, enterprise development, and management of public investment capital plans; promptly removes difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process.
In particular, the Department has advised on the completion of the task of formulating the Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister; publicly announcing the provincial planning according to regulations; coordinating the organization of the Conference to Announce the Provincial Planning; developing the Plan to implement the Provincial Planning, submitting it to the Prime Minister for approval.

Regarding public investment, the Department has done a good job of advising the Provincial People's Committee in developing plans and inspecting and urging the removal of difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process, contributing to accelerating the disbursement progress of the public investment capital plan in 2024; striving to achieve disbursement of 95% or more.
Regarding investment promotion, the Department of Planning and Investment coordinated with departments, branches and localities to organize meetings and work with 30 domestic and foreign investors who came to learn about the province's investment environment; guided investors to learn about project implementation procedures. In addition, chaired and coordinated with relevant units to organize many investment promotion activities such as: India - Vietnam Business and Investment Conference in Vinh Long; Conference on Announcing Planning and Promoting Investment in Agriculture, Trade and Tourism in Vinh Long Province; Conference on Connecting Enterprises between Vinh Long Province and Niigata Province (Japan)...
Activities and solutions to promote business and startup development are actively implemented by the Department, especially improving the investment environment, enhancing competitiveness, and supporting businesses in production and business.
Focus on consulting on investment attraction policies
To successfully complete the 2025 plan, the Department of Planning and Investment advises the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, and Provincial People's Council to develop and implement resolutions, action programs, plans on socio-economic recovery and development, solutions to remove difficulties for businesses and investors, striving for the province's GRDP growth in 2025 to reach 7%.
Accordingly, the Department will improve the quality of research, analysis and forecasting; continue to proactively review and advise the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee to amend and supplement new policies in accordance with the law, in accordance with the characteristics, situation and resources of the locality. In particular, focusing on policies to promote investment attraction, support people, businesses, cooperatives to develop, and promote all resources in society.
In addition, continue to research and innovate investment promotion activities, focusing on calling for investment in infrastructure of industrial parks and clusters, and key sectors. Focus on attracting large, branded investors at home and abroad. Timely advise on removing difficulties, creating conditions for investors and businesses to implement projects...
