At any time of the year, Moc Chau (Son La) is always surrounded by the vibrant green of tea hills. After more than 60 years of "nursing and taking root" on the plateau, through many ups and downs, tea trees are not only a specialty that helps people develop the economy but also attracts tourists from all over the world to enjoy and check-in, contributing to building the image of Moc Chau tourism.

Tourists can roam around on motorbikes, passing through the winding hairpin bends to run from one hill to another, admiring the magical transformation of the natural landscape. The fragrant scent of tea wafts in the air.
Moc Chau has 4 most beautiful tea hills for tourists to visit: Tan Lap tea hill 1, 2, 3 and heart-shaped tea hill. Each location has its own beauty, attracting photography enthusiasts and tourists.

During the summer months, visitors to Moc Chau can admire the bustling tea harvesting scene of farmers and farm workers.
In mid-July, photographer Hoang Duong (Hanoi) came to Moc Chau to take photos of the tea harvest. The location Duong chose was the Sugarcane Sub-area - Heart-shaped Tea Hill, about 7 km from the town center.

“Compared to the crowded and bustling area in the district center, this place has a peaceful, gentle and romantic beauty. I have been to Moc Chau many times but this is the first time I have seen with my own eyes the people picking tea so busily,” said Mr. Duong.

Tea farm workers or local farmers usually start work at 7am. Their hands are rhythmic and quick. On average, they will receive 3,000 VND for each kilogram of tea. Fast pickers will receive 300,000 VND/day.

The two most suitable times to take pictures of tea hills are between mid-March and mid-April and between mid-July and mid-August every year - when new buds sprout and the tea hills change into a new, vibrant color.

Mr. Duong spent 3 days wandering around following the tea pickers to "hunt" for many different impressive moments. Most of them were from high angles to see the "giant", vast tea hills, with people appearing and disappearing.

When visiting the tea hills, visitors can borrow baskets from farmers to take pictures, learn about their tea picking methods or participate in agricultural experience activities.
After being picked, the tea will be put into baskets, prepared to be cleaned, dried, and packaged into finished products.

Visitors should come to the tea hills early in the morning or at sunset, when the weather is cool, pleasant, and the scenery is most poetic.

Moc Chau Plateau is a land favored by nature with soil and climate conditions very suitable for tea growth. Currently, Moc Chau district has over 2,100 hectares of tea, with an annual output of over 25,000 tons of fresh buds. In addition, there are over 10 companies, enterprises, and factories processing fresh tea buds, with a capacity of about 300 tons/day; creating jobs for over 3,000 households in the raw material area and about 600 regular workers in companies and enterprises.

Currently, Moc Chau has built a plan to preserve grasslands and tea hills to serve tourism.
