Known as one of the most beautiful churches in Nam Dinh , Sa Chau Temple (Giao Chau Commune, Giao Thuy District) has a unique and majestic architecture and has become an attractive destination.

Sa Chau Holy Temple is located in Giao Chau commune, Giao Thuy district, Nam Dinh province. It has Western architecture and is one of the unique religious structures that attracts tourists to visit.

Built during the French colonial period (1942), Sa Chau Holy Temple has a total area of ​​about 130,000 m2. The church is 75m long, 25m wide and 22m high.

Sa Chau Shrine stands out from other churches in the same diocese by its design and construction, featuring bold Gothic architecture with characteristic domes.

The building was severely damaged, deformed and ruined by several historical events during the two resistance wars against the French and the Americans. When Father Gioakim Vu Cao Duong was the parish priest, the church was renovated and expanded. Some of the Quan - Chung houses or the grounds around the building were also rebuilt.

The interior of Sa Chau Holy Temple is very spacious, where parishioners often come to read the Bible on weekdays. Ms. Pham Thi Thoan (Giao Chau commune, Giao Thuy district) said: "This place is closely associated with us parishioners, every day at noon and in the evening we often go to mass at the holy temple. Not only is the design beautiful, this place also has an airy space, so these days when the electricity in my area is out, we always take advantage of the noon to come here to read the Bible, enjoy the cool breeze".

Sa Chau Holy Temple has been renovated and embellished twice, many areas have been newly built but basically the original architecture is still intact.

Every year on May 1, the Bishop returns to celebrate Mass in honor of St. Joseph the Worker. This is also the day of adoration of the Sa Chau Shrine parish with many large-scale activities, attracting a large number of parishioners to participate.
