Hanoi University of Science and Technology has just announced the 2025 thinking assessment exam. Accordingly, next year, the exam is expected to be held in 3 rounds, each round will have 3-4 test teams at 30 test sites. Specifically, Round 1 will have test dates of January 18-19, 2025; registration opening date is December 1-6, 2024.
Phase 2 has exam dates of March 8-9, 2025; registration opening date of February 1-6, 2025.
Phase 3 has exam dates of April 26-27, 2025; registration opening date is April 1-6, 2025.
In addition to the previous testing sites, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will open a new testing site to support students in the Northwestern provinces with a testing site in Lao Cai province. It is expected that the exam can accommodate about 75,000 test takers.
From 2023, the content and format of the exam will be implemented as designed and will remain stable for many years to come.
Accordingly, the test consists of 3 parts: Mathematical Thinking (60 minutes), Reading Comprehension (30 minutes) and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving (60 minutes). These are 3 independent parts, the test questions will focus on assessing the thinking ability of the candidate in each part, not directly testing the knowledge of any subject.
The test will be conducted in the form of multiple choice tests on computers, and the test results will be valid for 2 years for university admission purposes.

In 2024, Hanoi University of Science and Technology organized 6 exam sessions on weekends with 30 exam locations each session in Hanoi and 11 provinces and cities including Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Da Nang; serving nearly 50,000 exams with a total of 21,000 candidates.
The exam results have been used by more than 50 universities to serve university admissions for the 2024-2025 academic year.
