After 12 rounds, V-League 2023 has basically determined the championship group and the teams that must compete to stay in the highest league in Vietnam.
HAGL regrettably draws with TP.HCM in round 12 of V-League 2023
Accordingly, the 5 teams that are certain to get tickets to the top 8 are Hanoi Police (24 points), Thanh Hoa (23 points), Hanoi FC (22 points), Viettel (18 points) and Ha Tinh (17 points).
There are currently 5 teams competing with each other to get the remaining 3 tickets to participate in the 2023 V-League championship round, including Hai Phong, Binh Dinh, Nam Dinh, HAGL and SLNA.
Meanwhile, the four teams Khanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang must enter the group to compete for relegation tickets.
According to the Organizing Committee's regulations, V-League 2023 is divided into 2 phases.
In phase 1, 14 teams will compete in a round robin to score points.
The top 8 teams continue to play a round robin in phase 2 and select the champion.
Meanwhile, the 6 bottom clubs in phase 1 will face off directly to find out which team will be relegated.
By the end of round 12 of phase 1, HAGL only had 14 points, ranked 9th and was at very high risk of having to participate in the relegation race.
In round 13 (the final round of phase 1), the mountain town team had to play away at Binh Dinh, the team currently ranked 7th with 16 points and has not yet secured a ticket to the championship race.
In the most recent match, despite only having to host a team named TP.HCM that is at the bottom of the table, Tuan Anh and his teammates could only get a goalless draw.
It is worth mentioning that this is HAGL's 8th draw since the beginning of the season, along with 2 wins and 2 losses.
